The kitchen does look a lot brighter and with your accessearies it will look great. The blind looked fine. Can't wait to see what's next.

My blinds are a little short at each side but as you say cover the window so just the frame at each side white blind white frame. We cut a piece of wood and painted it white to cover the top part of the blind where it fits onto the window sort of like a pelmet as I feel that's wher you must see the blind is a little small Looks fine.

My daughters and I have had made to measure blinds from Blinds2Go. You can get colour samples. They look great when they fit so well. My eldest used the grout reviver in her bathroom and it still looks good even in the shower area two years later. I tested Dulux Matt kitchen paint with blobs of ketchup and brown sauce overnight. They both wiped off perfectly.

So clean and bright. Those accent pieces, like the pretty blue and white bowl are going to look great!

My parents have made to measure Venetian blinds in their kitchen. Knowing how it could look to seeing yours, I think it’s too much of a gap, but only because of the top of the blind. With allowance for the tiles, once it’s in place it might look fine, but I’m more in the side of too short

Shade blinds looks good, when you put some terracotta pots with herbs or flowers gaps won’t be noticeable at all. I have made to measure blinds in the kitchen and gaps are 2cm each side, so I dont think that 5mm will do any difference 🤷🏻‍♀️

Eggshell & Satin are sheens that fall between Matt and Silk, id recommend one of those if silk is too much as they have better wipeability than matt.

I think you should stick to the original plan of a Roman blind to bring a bit of colour and warmth the the kitchen. Love your channel and hope you’re doing well x

Try Egyptian cotton by dulux , that gives a nice warm feel without being too dark xx

Brass cabinet handles would warm it up a bit.

Hope it’s not too late but Dulux do custom made kitchen paint? That may help🙏🏾 and even if you can’t find your colour, there is usually a paint mix station. Good luck❤

Hi Shade. I am so glad you started it. Let the adventure begin. lol I did see your lil display, I see what you are aiming at & it looks wonderful. Stick with the Matte finish hun, it will bug you. You will curse eventually about the gap either side of the blind. Have you thought of dropping a wider blind from the ceiling and possibly using a box pelmet ( in your chosen fabric) to cover the top of the blind? Good luck lovely, Leighsha xx

Great video. With the paint sometimes it worth just redoing it. It can become very annoying each morning you go into the kitchen and you see all that gloss bouncing back. I have found that when I have just left a colour I am displeased with it comes back to haunt me in the long run. lol you deserve being happy with your home so if it offends you change it girl 😂😂💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾

As someone who loves Matt paint as long as you buy kitchen washable paint your fine I hate silk and gloss and satin 😂 just be sure it says washable not wipeable

i have painted over silk emulsion with a matte paint... it came out fine no problems

Hi Shade thank you for this quick update the colour is lovely but I would have stayed with the Matt finish. I know what a perfectionist you are so the gap in the blinds to the window is a little on the wide side and may bug you further down the line. The Roman blind would add more warmth and depth! Can’t wait to see it all finished❤

I think if I were you I’d possibly get the other blind, they’d have more of an impact and probably be better value for money in that sense? We’ve both got the same colour scheme/theme for how we’d like our kitchen to look 😍 white/blue, country cottagey.

Don't forget about paint finishes! Matte for a cozy feel, satin for some sheen, and glossy for a sleek look.

I hate silk, I personally dont care that its easier kept clean, I always use matt wipeable, I think you would need to paint the walls with a primer before you paint the walls matt or it might crack. As you said the blinds are not perfect but you might get away with it, fingers crossed.

Looking at the top of blinds the gap looks too big. But you have to consider the thickness of the tiles at the bottom of the window. If there is a 1cm either side they are about right

If you take into account the amount of space the tiling takes up each side, I reckon that blind is about right

Think the doors should be painted black especially if your doing black kitchen cabinet handles
