This has to be the shortest though most informative upland bird gun, choke, ammo video I’ve seen in months! Especially for the novice hunter. That said, what about a break action 20 gauge single shot. I’m the type of guy who refuses to put meat in the freezer unless it’s absolutely necessary. 3-4 dove, 2-quail, 1-2 rabbit or squirrel, 1- feral pig is it. So, for me, a single shot shotgun is ideal, not to mention extremely durable, and light to carry on long hikes … Your opinion would be much appreciated.

This was super helpful I'm a long time deer hunter but I have zero experience with birds and I've been wanting to get into it. Also do you pluck immediately or let the meat rest for awhile?

If my range only allows seven and a half or 9 shot which one would you suggest I choose to train with if 6 is the best for pheasant hunting. Thanks a whole lot we are new to shotgun and pheasant hunting. Someone gave my wife some pheasants the year before last and now we're hooked we got to get more

Only “three” shotgun rounds for certain types of game hunting. Hunting “non-game” species in most states and the laws on the use of an unplugged shotgun are permitted.

What chokes does everyone use when they rabbit hunt?

That over under looked like the CZ ultralight. I'm getting a new gun this season and kinda between that and the weatherby orion matte Blued gun. Thoughts ?

You forgot to mention for new hunters that when shooting steel, go “up” in shot size x2. For example, if you’d use #8 lead shot for steel you’d want to use #6. Using #4 lead shot, you’d use #2 steel. This is because steel is much lighter than lead and looses it “know down “ energy much quicker than steel once leaving the barrel. -Second, the chokes MUST be rated for steel shot. -Third, A choke for steel shot is about 1.5-2 times “tighter” than it is for lead. For example, an Improved Cylinder constricted choke pattern with lead, performs like a modified choke with steel. A modified choke with lead performs like a full choke with steel. A Skeet choke with lead, performs in between the Improved Cylinder and Modified chokes with steel. -Fourth, generally speaking, when shooting steel, one should never go with a tighter choke above “modified.” Any tighter is really hard on the choke itself. Beretta for example states to never shoot tighter than modified when using steel. There are of course some aftermarket chokes with tighter constrictions (Improved modified, Full, Extra full) that are made for steel shot, but they are pricey and generally not needed.

Can you ruin the chamber, bore or any part of the shot gun if you use the wrong choke with the wrong ammo. ?

Sorry the 3 shell capacity is wrong across the board. Some states for certain species yes but not across the board
