Lang Lang started playing the piano when he was 3 years old. I can't even remember what I was doing at the age of three. He won his first piano competition at the age of 5, and at 13, he was already giving concerts in concert halls in Beijing. Compared to other pianists, he's an old accomplished musician now.
@BK-ve6qv7 жыл бұрын
SARAH FERNANDEZ he had a super rough childhood too. He was living away from his mother, only with his father. He even stopped playing Piano for about 4 months because of the rage his father drove him in, and wanted Lang Lang to die. He even got fired by a teacher.

Lang Lang is very talented my friend. He has put countless hours of practice in, to get where he is today. It's pretty pathetic that you are so jealous of him. You are about as ignorant as they come. If you don't like Lang Lang for some reason, why are you viewing his videos. You are obviously jealous if you are commenting poorly on a video you chose to watch, knowing perfectly well it was Lang Lang. Consider finding your own talent, instead of coveting others.

@bidondhuile27404 жыл бұрын
Ok so you re saying criticizing an asian for butchering music because he is too fast or not respecting the spirit of the piece is racist. If we listen to you, a non asian should stop criticism, even when lang lang can say, fuck off, I play the way I want it. I suppose for you asians are little weak creatures that cant shrugg off classic pression an artist get. We all see that the racism you re talking about is yours. Maybe you should help him build a safe space for asians, not sure he will join you though.

What's with all this hate around Lang Lang? They are his interpretations! I understand people can have their own opinions but are you really in the position to insult him when you cannot do half of what he does? Learn to give some respect to the people who play music for us to enjoy.
@pawedoronowski26737 жыл бұрын
Why hate? Let me answer: Composer wants from performer to play his (composer's) work as he/she wants it to be played. I know, there is something called interpretation, but it has limits. Lang Lang crosses these limits, and this is why some people admire his interpretations, and some (like me) hate it. TO BE WELL UNDERSTOOD: I RESPECT HIS PIANO TECHNIQUE, AND ALL THE WORK HE DID TO ACHIEVE IT. I JUST HATE HIS INTERPRETATIONS.

No. 7, the cello etude, starting here at 13:34, is really magical. I love how the RH and LH melodic lines come into and out of aural focus, like in a mist. In contrast is Lang Lang's approach to the parallel thirds in no. 6. I like being able to hear all of the notes at the same volume level the whole time. It's kind of like this inevitable wave of sound assaulting my ears. That's why I need the mist afterwards. This guy understands drama so well!
@cinziamatarazzo51359 жыл бұрын
I listened to these studies by Lang Lang live and I must say they were very excited,a mixture of technique that is close to perfection and sound control refined that sometimes drags you in magical atmospheres.Obviously the best pianist doesn't exist,MUSIC IS NOT AN EXACT SCIENCE,and there is nothing "objectively provable".I personally find that Pollini has an executive style too rigid and substantially cold.My personal taste prefers Ashkenazy,but Lang Lang brigs out melodies unsual and interesting that offer a new reading of pieces heard hundreds of times.On the other hand,in every genius has to be a revolutionary component.......
@retiredmusiceducator36127 жыл бұрын

Like any pianist he hits and misses with interpretation and digital skills. Occasionally, he overshoots the bounds of what the composer intended. No doubt he is great -- especially as an entertainer -- but as a pianist I preferred Horowitz, who was also criticized for playing some pieces too fast -- others too slow. I believe accuracy in hitting the correct notes are essential! If one cannot do that because they're playing at break-neck speed, then one should slow it down -- not just slur his way through it.
@thepianimalkingdom3 жыл бұрын
With the bravura sections he's truly the Eddy Van Halen of Classical Pianists. Absolutely electrifying. He can also play with a ravishing beauty in the lyrical sections. It was so interesting, and gave an insight into expert , sensitive portrayal of the composer's music...masterclasses by Benjamin Zander are also very educational : they must be so helpful to students, and also to music lovers, even here on KZfaq, if not in real life.... 🎼😊🇬🇧😊🎼❤🎼

Another thing to address would be Chopin's frail health and body. If you compare statements of what his playing was like compared to what he wrote in his scores he may have played with more intense dynamics if able to do so and the same thing goes for Scriabin. Both of them complained of their lack of power, technically not musically.

I was deeply impressed by the pianist's perfomance. Does anyone know the piece name in an encore after 36 minites 10 seconds?

As pessoas que comentam se esquecem q o pianista é um intérprete! Ele toca como percebe e sente a musica. Ficam os esnobes comparando, citando, depreciando! Quem não gosta que não ouça!
