Love the Y62 & how excited it's making you. As a professional Car Groomer I highly recommend keeping a good Leather Care on all of your exposed leather & clean it when you get it dirty out in the bush. A good UV protection on your dash & door cards. Less expensive than needing to repair it!

Awesome build so far and very happy for you! Future mods: Front/Rear lockers, rear winch, snorkel, extended fuel capacity. I'm 50/50 on a rooftop tent... I think you're ground swag is more efficient (lower center of gravity/wind resistance while driving). And, comms... I see one antenna, but, I believe you're a HAM radio operator, so I'd get VHF/UHF at least installed, and I also like my Garmin inReach for Satellite communication outside of cell phone reception. The best mod would be a full calendar of use, now go get into it and enjoy it! Cheers from Arizona. Pete - KI7LIL

It's an impressive rig, looks comfy too!! Quality 12v with long battery life makes all the difference, and a great way to have (lazy?) convenience while saving power is to put a motion sensor on the canopy LEDs. Those LED bars will pull power, so I like a motion sensor with a timer on the living (passenger) side and a simple door switch on the storage side. Good to see it out on the tracks and getting (a little) dirty!

Graham, Love the y62 build build, ever since I drove one as a rental car here in the states I've wanted one. You've gone full tourer so I'd swap out that swag for an aluminum hard shell roof top tent on the canopy! I'd also get your charging quadrant organized with fixed-in-place chargers so they dont bounce around or disconnect; possibly shadow-box that big drawer? I'd also get your core recovery kit into the back seat so it's always accessible in case a panel or door is pinched and you can't get into it. You've got enough room in the cab, a small fridge accessible from the driver seat could make those long stretches on the move even easier. Hope to see you beating up the big girl on some tough tracks soon!

Running the wiring for my lightbar up through the inside or my snorkel has worked a treat an also for the wiring of the side roof lighting an read lights under my platform. Great set up Graham, love it! If you haven't already, I'd seriously look into getting the wireless kit from airbag man for those rear airbags. Its bloody handy being able to check what pressure you have at a glance and be warned if there's a leak (they are expensive to replace), and being able to adjust pressure up or down using key fob is very handy (a tad lazy maybe, but who cares).

I found it handy on my old rig to have a basic on board compressor. I secured it in in the canopy and 2 ran extension lines with one outlet on the roo bar and the other on the tow bar. Then to air up I’d just click on one of those spiral hoses that could stretch out to each of the tyres. I preferred that to having to get out a bunch of stuff each time to air up. Also a little tap to wash your hands after tucking into your bacon and eggs 😂 but I assume you’ve already got that Cheers G
