Laura just have to say, you have put me way behind on billing and paperwork! Since I found your site I have been binge watching both yours and your dads sites. Your dad is one of the best, along with Doug from Larson Farms, and cracks me up. Him in that army surplus truck could be an entire episode. I find it so refreshing that you, Grant and your entire families are such wholesome people, so down to earth, so honest and seemingly natural with the phone in your faces. With what is going on right now you guys and gals are a breath of fresh air. It's great to see such high quality young adults striving to continue on the farm and make it a success. Sorry for the long winded note but I appreciate every single episode and mark my words it will not be long before you have 100K subscribers and many more. Keep up the fantastic work.

Well, that was fun. So many different kinds of machines on the farm! I remember when your Mom (my beautiful daughter) married Cale, and began to work alongside him...going from city girl to country girl...I was amazed to find that she could drive absolutely “anything” with wheels! And now YOU....following in your Mom’s footsteps and beyond! It’s so cool that you are taking us on your journey. Great video!!!🥰

Harantin - Pride of Gomeria aww....she really is, isn’t she? I’d you care to read back below all the other posts, I have commented on every single one, including the live videos. Hard to “keep my mouth shut” about all that this amazing girl does. And the really cool part? She is absolutely being herself....no “out on” or acting differently in front of the camera. She has a good heart, a great personality, a loving attitude, and is always an honest, faithful, God based human being 🥰 Laura is the oldest of my eight Grandchildren. Five of which are my Daughter, Megan’s. We adore ALL of them 🤗

A N C I E N C E not at all. I said I have 8 grandchildren. Five of the grandchildren are my daughter’s children. (the other 3 grandchildren are children of my sons) Laura is the oldest of five siblings, and the oldest of my eight grandchildren. Laura has one sister and three brothers.

Over the period of seventy years, much has changed on the Farm Technology wise, but the people stayed basically the same. Farmers are good hardworking people.

Happy birthday to Grant. Today, Thursday 6 of August the weather forecast in the Netherlands is: 33°C (or 91°F) to 35°C (95°C) the predict a heat wave fore the Netherlands. That means, 5 days over 25°C (77°F) and at least 3 of them above 30°C (86°F). They call temperature above 30°C tropical temperature. Yes for the Netherlands it's pretty hot. And the airmoisture is very high. So until Wednesday next week, it's gonna be hot here.

I remember dad and granpa filling an open bunker with corn silage in the early 50s. Southeast Kansas. Parsons area. Then covering the corn silage with Calcium lime.

I have seen something akin to that silage chopper used for grinding up pine logs. Occasionally one would get a bit stuck and smoke would come out of the rotating bin.

Man I love US farming, 8 series John Deere tractors with front end loaders. Like a different world over there. Oh yea plus hammer mill tub grinders mounted on lorries! I'm fed up with the weather n government restrictions in Ireland could be time to move.

@@skylarmorknerbrown well we've no corn, tractors with loaders aren't nearly as common and they are relegated to small 90 to 100hp tractors, whereas a 8210 jd is on a larger frame than any tractors here and to see it with a loader is surreal. We are better at getting silage cut though in general than the Americans.

Hey Laura....It would be really cool if you put a GoPro on a running pivot. Either at the pivot point or at the end gun. Set the GoPro for timelapse and generate a video showing the pivot running.

Also they are not really silage bales (fermentation requires a fully enclosed bale), I would guess its more akin to a mixture of straw/hay bale which might have a bit fermented silage on the inside. But I reckon its just purely there for filler so in all likelihood its just pure straw/hay

Happy Birthday, Grant! @Laura Farms: Why do you chop up the bails from last year and what do you do with it once it chopped up?? What is the purpose of, I assuming, renting a big machine or hiring a company to do it isn't free, so I'm sure there is a purpose but didn't say why? ... Get it ready for compost? (Guess?) why leave the wrap on the bails? Couldn't tell if it was a biodegradable wrap or plastic? I love your golf game. Look out Tiger Woods, Laura Golfs will be on youtube in the Fall. (LOL)

Love the videos. I noticed a lot of comments about the chopping, wrap on or off, what is the purpose of chopping? sitting rotting on the ground, and you skipped over it quickly. Maybe go a little more into detail? Loved the slow motion. Perfect, not too much, just right. Also, note to self, do not piss off Laura when she has access to that Mad Max looking machine and is holding a golf club. Tell Grant Happy Birthday for me!

From what Laura said it sounds like those were bales of corn stalks they took off the fields last fall. Farmers around here use those as bedding for the cows. Rather than let them sit there and rot it makes sense to mix them with the new corn silage so they can be fed to the cows this winter.

Probably like other machines out there it removes it as it’s chopping and very little wrap gets mixed in.

luki123543 find a video of it because I sure can’t describe it to you. It’s kinda like a blown tire wrapping around an axle, you know it did it but you can’t put your finger on how it did it.
