I love it when I get a chance to bow to someone in Japan. They probably hate it. Most Japanese song dances are so regimented that they probably do it from muscle memory. With AG it's refreshing to see the improvisation. No 2 versions are alike. Although here they probably rehearsed a lot. First Take is pretty important. First Take always has English subs available within a couple of days.

The highlight for me were Mizyu's "wow"s. She often makes these exclamations in live performances.

AG do all their own choreography and also create dances for other groups. I'm not sure if anyone takes the lead or if it's totally collaborative, but they obviously don't impose a single dance style. The "face on to side on" comparison you made between Rin and Mizyu is really comparing Rin's hip-hop inclination and Mizyu's more jazz style; Mizyu is really emphasizing the right hip thrust and takes that up to her right shoulder, I think to make it as coquettish as possible. There's a video online that shows AG teaching a dance to another idol group and in that Suzuka leads the class and Mizyu gets in with the pupils to demonstrate the steps. FYI this First Take performance now has over 10M views. Otona Blue (Adult Blue, blue is associated with youth and immaturity in Japan as well as the usual English meaning of "blues") is about "teenage awakening" ie the awareness of desire in others and their own desire to grow up and experience adult emotions. AG wrote the lyrics themselves when they were younger and I think it's an honest expression of their feelings as they approached adulthood, which can make people uncomfortable. But AG never shy away from difficult subjects. They actually cut out some of the more explicit "phallic" bits of the dance and introduced a mime of a flower opening with a surprised look. Check out their latest song "Suki Lie" which is about romantic betrayal. The bow in Japan is very important and the person of lower status will always bow a little lower. In business circumstances it is combined with presenting a business card and you might also exchange small gifts. I worked with a trading company in Tokyo for a while and before we went to Japan we had some instruction on how to bow and were told that booze was always a good gift... the "Johnnie Walker Black Label" went down well.

I wouldn't be surprised if they were dancing different because the camera is off center. They are always very aware of camera angles and perspective. The Parthenon looks so cool and straight because it's actually slightly curved. It's an illusion.
