Its the same choreography but with extra dance breaks. Also the song is technically different. Its the original version fully in Korean. The one with the music video is mostly in english (the steve aoki remix one).

Their choreo changes a lttle here and there for this song depending on the venue and space they have but this specific dance practice is for their 2017 MAMA performance. It was amazing..

Dance practices let you see the entire choreography straight on without different camera angles so you feel their movements full out and the entirety of it! That’s why I actually became a fan a BTS first through their dance practices!!

BTS uploads different choreo practices of the same song sometimes. They will do the real one (correct one) and then do a fun version/lovely version/halloween version. The lovely version for Spring Day was just for fun. They have the real version you can check out, too. My advice would be to watch the real/correct version then watch the fun ones. That way you are not confused on the choreo. They also upload Award performance dance practices. These have dance breaks worked into the choreo, so the song/dance is longer. This one was done for MAMA 2017. They performed Cypher 4, DNA, Mic Drop and Not Today (I think), Mic Drop was the last song they performed. Right after the performance they won Artist of the Year for the second year in a row. They now have 3 because they won it again for 2018.

This dance practice is for the MAMA awards performance in 2017. They practiced with the original version of MICDROP. The one we are more familiar is the Steve Aoki remix version. But if you go watch the actual MAMA performance, you can see that they actually ended up using the remix version. I love that performance and have watched it like millions of times. I can tell that Jhope changed one dance move when he was in the middle too lol

I'm sure theres already 100 comments explaining but heres number 101 ! :D the music is basically Mic Drop the original korean version you can find on Love Yourself: Her & the little dance breaks in between use Steve Aoki's remixed beat. This is how they performed Mic Drop at MAMA 2017 thus why the video is called MAMA dance break version :))) The audio does sound a little different though because the vocals come through much stronger in this video. I think other armys noticed that too & I'm not just losing my mind lol Thanks for yet again another wonderful reaction. I gotta say, any time Kate watches these videos, the most beautiful, genuine & quite frankly contagious smile comes onto her face. its the sweetest thing ever. you guys are awesome

Yes this is the MAMA 2017 DANCE BREAKS .... there's a lot of difference... If you watch just pay attention the difference in MV to LIVE PERFORMANCE ... With putting UN-DESCRIBLE EFFORTS ... you can tell how much their HARD WORKING JUST TO BE PERFECT THE PERFORMANCE..💜💜💜💜💜 that's why i luv them....

You are right there are two different versions of Mic Drop, Steve Akoi is a remix in mainly English. The original version is Korean which is this version. This practise is for the MAMA Award Show, where there are dance breaks 💜 thank you for reacting.

Basically there were 3 dance breaks in this choreo...usually when the backup dancers join them. You are right that its a bit different because this is the Mic Drop Remix Korean version...they perform this choreo during MAMA 2017 but with the English version...

The choreo is the same, only that it has 3 dance breaks at the after 1st chorus, middle and last part. And yeah this song is the original Mic Drop from LY HER album, and the song is in full korean.

Dance breaks are parts in the performance where the singing stops and the beat drops and they just dance like at 8:43. The original performance didn't have these breaks, when mic drop was first released, but then when they performed this song at the mama award show, they were added in. They usually do 1 dance break but this has 3 different ones.

You might see it as it wasn't much difference between the performance that you had watched before and this because since 2017 MAMA performance they're been doing a little of this extra dance break, but on that moment, that performance, we're like Wow! AND they did it with suits, so imagine how we lost our souls that time.

The dance breaks were the difference (when the beat drops) cuz they never dropped a dance practice for the mic drop dance break last festa or the year it came out so they did it for this festa - it’s nothing really special but it was still so cool

Yes this has the dance breaks after each chorus. At the concert we only get the dance break at the very end. Also this is the original version in mostly Korean with the Steve Aoki remix music playing. I wish to see that whole performance live and yeah that was a serious dance practice.

They did this choreography a while ago for the word show, that's why people said they have been holding back on us.

If you watch live performances, they mostly add dance breaks which is what this is. It’s the same as the MV just with the dance breaks added in and it sounded a little different because it was the Korean version.

This is basically the same choreography in what they are doing in the concerts, but this dance practice is for their MAMA 2017 performance where they did this longer version with a dance break the first time. The original Mic Drop isn't this long bec it doesn't have space for dance break.

Basically, the dance breaks are the extra dancing choreography that’s between the singing/rapping parts. This Mic Drop version is ale from the album LY Her (all Korean language) except with extended music parts for the dance breaks. Mic Drop remix (feat Steve Aoki) is where RM raps in English and chorus part is in Rnglish with the beat remixed by Aoki. ....There is one more version of Mic Drop with Desiigner (feat Steve Aoki) too. 😁 but I love the other versions more.

🔥Hey guys...You guys were so focused on this video. DOPE was my very first BTS video. I was captured and attacked by all the talent and swag. Lol Then I was stuck... And there was NO going back for me. Lol I binged watched all there dance practices and other content. The dance practices always show cases just how hard they work to perfect their craft. Please add as much dance practices as you can. You see their progress as they mature as a group. Just love these boys/young men, and so proud of them. I find myself losing myself in music while dancing too. When I’m on the stage, I don’t consider myself me anymore but the character I’m portraying. The music feels different because it’s in Korean (this is the original lyrics) because the one you’re used to is the one where they added more English lyrics for the collaboration

The Choreo is pretty much the same, this Mic drop version is just in Korean. The original Mic drop by Steve Aoki was in English, and is most recognizable. This song has like 4 versions, Original in Korean, English with Steve aoki, Japanese and English with Desiggner. As well as mixed versions with dance breaks like this one.

The sound of the song is different because this is the original version with clear pre recorded vocals , the MV version is a remix with processed vocals ! The choreography is the same except there is more dance breaks .

So there are 3 dance break in this one. They performed this one at the 2017 MAMA but they performed just the last dance break at the SNL and they're doing just the last one at the concerts as well. This is the original(korean) version but I think audio is different,too like demo or something it's so raw we clearly can hear them singing and rapping which is totally ok for me lol

Yes, it is very similar to the MAMA performance.... and for the MV..... this is the music from the Steve Aoki remix with dance break (full version) but did not include all the english on the chorus sections, so it does feel a little different.... their intensity for the MAMA performance was edgier in some ways but also looser as they had already done two songs and were more tired..... The part that stands out to me is Yoongi's rap part he seemed to go harder on the rap on the award show than in this practice.... Also, they often make little adjustments between the choreo videos and the actual performances, based on staging (size, layout, props, etc.).... Thanks again. Love your LUV of the guys! Peace!!!

So just to break it down for you guys! There are several versions of Mic Drop. The reason why this song sounds a bit different is because it's used the original audio, while using the Steve Aoki remix for the dance breaks (no singing, just dancing). This version was performed in MAMA 2017, thus the title and why it's an extended version. The choreography is the same as the original, besides the dance breaks.

The 3 parts of dance breaks (the instrumental parts) weren't in the original choreo, it's the dance breaks for MAMA special stage performance 💗

others have said this but: these are the original lyrics from the original Korean version (still some English mixed in but not as much as the Aoki remix, which has a substantial amount of English in it). Also, this version has 3 extended dance breaks which made it thrilling when they performed it on MAMA as the last song in a 20 minute set. Check BangtanTV for an excellent clip from the MAMA show, better than the MAMA broadcast version, if you want to see the dance.

There is no equivalent for the sound of the English letter R in the korean language, so while all of the other names are spelled out, RM stays in the foreign letters. There is no exact equivalent to the letter V either, but there is a sound near enough to be recognizable, so V becomes something close to ‘bwee’ to an English speaker. The new parts to this dance practice are all of the parts with the dance crew. In the original choreography, mic drop is a seven person dance.

Yes, both practice videos are recorded in 2017 I believe. And this version of mic drop is exactly the same as their performance at 2017 MAMA in HongKong.

I find it funny that they're all wearing their names on those papers tied to them, but RM is the only one in English, everyone else's is in Hangul. They even spelled out "V" and "J-Hope" phonetically in Hangul, which is amusing to me. xD

There are 4 versions of the song: korean version, japanese version, the remix (with english lyrics) and the remix with the dance breaks. In the video they are using the remix with the dance breaks but they are singing all in korean (maybe taht's why it sounded different for you) You should watch mic drop comeback performance, you'll notice what's diferrent from this video :)

I'm sure other commenters have mentioned already, but there are various versions of Mic Drop that BTS have released/performed for various audiences/platforms. Just off the top of my head: 1. One of my favorite dance practice of them is “bangtan bomb dance performance(real war ver.)”.they were so funny and literally can tell they were just having fun while being silly with each other😁

I think the difference were where they add JK's part at 8:43 , Tae's part at 9:00 plus where they looks like they open their blazer a bit and also JHope's part at 10:15 .. I saw many mic drop performnce incl. at their concerts and all the adding part were not included. I think so..

Dance practices are awesome to react to! Because you started off with the "lovely ver", which was just intended to be a fun treat for fans, you might have expected every dance practice to be different/have some sort of theme. That's not necessarily true- practices like this aren't supposed to be 'different", they are just rehearsals for the actual MAMA performance and whatnot. However, the track for this did seem slightly different- more raw and less editing on the vocals, maybe for the MAMA performance specifically? IDK. Yes, the Spring Day practice was from two years ago- we could tell from the outfits. It seems BigHit keeps a giant file of long archived vids that they hide from us T_T Dance practices are key to appreciating their amazing choreo! YESSS OMG I'll totally pay for the patron subscriptions. Been waiting for the run episodes for a long time :) I thin you should start from more recent episodes? Please take note some episodes form a series, continuting from each other and you cant react to them individually. That's only for certain specific ones
