I had this playing in the background and when i started my car just now all i heard was "the sunnofabitch counted the trap adapter as the slipjoint" LOL

LMAO. I forgot I said that, so unprofessional....lol

I'd have been annoyed too. Plenty of times I've had to use offset slip joint fittings, with a extension on top of it, because of a design change, or a oversight; doesn't matter, does it leak?!?

Thank you a bunch sir, appreciate it. I'd try to throw the word "code" in, might be good for more exposure in search results? This is a solid resource, it just needs to get to the plumbers looking for it. I honestly looked more than a few times for plumbing curriculum, and it never popped up for me. Frustrated with the provided results, "reality" t.v format sponsored by monster energy clickbait, I settled for gas furnace trouble shooting To broaden my understanding and be learning something; and then your channel popped up in my suggested videos. Go figure, finally.
@BGsPlumbingClass5 ай бұрын
Yeah, I really should alter that in my descriptions.

It's worth a try. The professional atmosphere you offer, while yet being casual, is definitely more conducive to the learning process than much of what else I've filtered through. The only other objective criticism I can give is, the audio chop. When you turn the volume up, to drown out the distracting, annoying banter of our loved ones, you get that static. It's outside my wheelhouse, but I wonder if there is a way to preserve the video, while filtering it out. I am absolutely willing to grin and bear it personally, but people sure can be persnickity. Obviously something only to think about, when things are slow. At any rate, grateful for what you're giving, thank you Ben.

I've since gotten a mic. The original reason for the videos were to perform my lectures during covid isolation.

Stubbing to a p-trap for a laundry sink long sweep or 90 elbow considering the Santee is 14 inches away? This fitting would be considered horizontal to horizontal and 1-1/2 fitting. Thanks

OMG now I know why every time a truck with a huge tank would park next to almost every restaurant at Gaslamp Quarter in the middle of the night, would smell so bad. So for a minute I thought they we’re pumping out only human waste , not the kitchen 😂😂 ... oh yeah now I totally understand your boss having gone through the food waste disposer / Grease interceptor pit and smelling for weeks 😆. So guess who’s gonna be in the lookout for that if ever get a call out to a restaurant for a backed up food intercepter ?

Sir, can i take diversity factor in the selection of drainage pipe horizontal or runoff size as the number of dfu is more as its coming 8 " but there is height problem so i cant go above 6" pipe so can we use.
@BGsPlumbingClass3 жыл бұрын
I'm not 100% sure as to what you are asking, but if you could be a bit more specific- like your total dfu demand- maybe we can start from there.

Can a laundry tray connect into the standpipe of an automatic clothes washer? Seen a diagram somewhere that had it as long as the stand pipe extended above the laundry tray and wasn’t more then 30” away from it
@BGsPlumbingClass3 жыл бұрын
I will answer this based on the Uniform Plumbing Code, which is what I am regulated by. Section 1001.2 says "Each domestic clothes washer and each each laundry tub (tray) shall be connected to a separate and independent trap, except that a trap serving a laundry tub (tray) shall be permitted to receive the waste from a clothes washer set adjacent to it." So in other words, I would not be able to legally perform that type of connection, nor would I want to. That very same code section says that not more than one trap is allowed per trap arm. If the laundry tub (tray) is ran into the stand pipe would there be no trap under the tub (tray)? In this scenario if there is then it violates the code, if there isn't then it violates the code. So therefore this scenario can not occur. Again this is the UPC. You may use a different code. Kyle, didn't you tell me before where you were out of, or am I thinking of someone else?

Philly?
@kyleleaper83343 жыл бұрын
@@BGsPlumbingClass thanks so much for the quick response and yes I’m from Philadelphia using the IPC and actually just found it in the code book and it actually allows you to do it in the IPC. Crazy how 2 codes say totally different things but yet it’s still all plumbing
@BGsPlumbingClass3 жыл бұрын
@@kyleleaper8334 Yep, I keep meaning to get the IPC for my own information. I still contend though that even though your code allows it, it may not be the best practice. From all previous comparisons between the two codes, for the most part the UPC is stricter- with both being almost identical the majority of the time.

Hello, Are gully traps allowed to be installed as per upc
@BGsPlumbingClass Жыл бұрын
Short answer is no. However, looking into these a bit further I can see that it is no more than a glorified floor sink and see no reason why it shouldn't. The idea behind it is quite interesting. Where are you geographically?

What state does these codes pertain to?
@BGsPlumbingClass3 жыл бұрын
The Uniform Plumbing Code is used in many States. Here in California we've been using it for several decades. I've a list of codes used in the states if you would like to know any of these I could relay that to you. There are several similarities between the two primary Codes used in the States with little differing between them.

@@BGsPlumbingClass I’m in Florida and there are some differences. When I watch your videos I try to fellow along with the Florida Building Code Plumbing 7th Edition. I do appreciate your videos and I’m sure others do as well.

@@tonyhddodge4282 Florida adopts the International Plumbing Code I believe, which definitely has a few differences- especially the distances required for the trap arms.
