Tripod reminds me of a haunted Gaol I visited here in Brisbane, Australia. The inmates made friends with a stray cat with three legs. They named him Tripod. He would wander the prison courtyard, the cells, and some prisoners even fought over him. He was the meanest son of a bitch in that prison. The inmates rumoured that there was a huge rat somewhere in the Gaol and that it was Tripod's mortal enemy, that was why he had so many scars and a missing leg. After Tripod's death, some prisoners said that his ghost was still seen roaming the prison, possibly because of his unfinished business with that damned rat. I thought that was interesting.
