2007 Bratach Gorm winner Chris Armstrong plays some of the tunes in his repertoire requiring faster fingerwork, including his own compositions. The pipes are his rather distinctive silver/gold Naills.

Had the opportunity to learn a few lessons from him at Piping centre. Setting some serious goals for pipers beginning out like us! Take a bow Chris Armstrong!! What a fantastic speed and precision, jaw dropped!

This is amazing. I am a bagpiper and have played for about 4 1/2 years now, and know that in fast song, such as, that it is EXTREMLY hard to stay this loose in the finger for this long. Wonderful work!

Chris's skill in piping is quite extraordinary. I'm in the process of learning Bonnie Dundee on the pipes and I have improved my dexterity in my right hand in learning it. I give kudos to Chris for having this magnitude of talent....and dexterity!!!

I've been playing for 4 years and I cant comprehend how this is even possible, he has made sounds and rythym patterns come out of the pipes that i couldnt have imagined.

not quite sure what to think honestly. One thing though I'm not sure I can get used to, as an American who grew up with 80's hair bands: the High A... just kills me all the time w/GHB players. I used to refuse to play my P3's unless my high A was spot on. that's just me. I completely understand I'm not a proper piper. This lad surely can fly over the chanter, though find meself longing for something a little more...slow after a while

Talk utter nonsense. Chris is a far better player than any 1 in this world could ever be. He does have self control, even the best of us make mistakes and break downs, Chris isn't the only one I've seen Stuart Liddell do it before and I've seen other grade 1 pipers do it. We all mistakes, the thing about Chris is at least he has the confidence and ability to cover up this break downs, that's what also makes a great player.

Diarmid MacDonald I think as far as technique and musicality, I do give a slight edge to Willie McCallum and Jack Lee.

I really wish folks would tune up BEFORE turning on the tape. And just because you can play that fast does not mean you should.
@yondlisch16 жыл бұрын
I agree; ridiculous! I've heard him play live and he is an amazing player; he can do it all, Individual tastes are one thing, but to imply mediocrity in his musicianship has no credibility whatsoever.
