One of the greatest jazz bands of all times that, for the most part, stayed together for 40+ years. Even though Ian Wheeler was a phenomenal clarinetist, he amazes me with his harmonica playing. Wow, what a great rendition of St Louis Blues.

Iann WHeeler était un génie de la clarinette, de l'harmonica et aussi de la cornemuse. Quand il joue, tout parait facile. Hommage à lui et bien évidemment à Monsieur Chris Barber qui savait communiquer sa bonne humeur à son orchestre et à son public.

Я вообще люблю диксиленд. Пару лет тому нашел в записях 30-х группу Chris Barber, Восхищен! Восхищен и творческим долголетием Mr.Barber и его коллег - Pat Halcox, John Crocker, Jan Wheeler..

Ian Wheeler was so multifaceted and extremely gifted. This was the first time I realized and saw him perform on the harmonica-wow.

And Paul Jones from the “Manfred Mann” pop group of the sixties plays Harmoníca as well too and had his own blues show on BBC radio for several years

My word, Chris Barber has changed styles from the early days. I remember back in the 1950 's when Humphrey Littleton was ridiculed by the so called purists for introducing a sax into his lineup.
