As one of the most coveted muscle cars in existence, the 2nd generation Dodge Chargers built from 1968-1970 are sought after by collectors worldwide. To some, they are the epitome of muscle car perfection, and to modify them in any way is considered sacrilege by many an enthusiast. Thankfully, builder, fabricator, racer, and Charger enthusiast, Chris Birdsong could care less about that, which is why he’s amassed a following of over 100k who joyfully view is Charger antics online.
We’ve been following Chris for quite some time, but it wasn’t until after we attended Muscle Cars at the Strip last month in Las Vegas, that we knew we had to have him as a guest on the Hemmings Hot Rod BBQ podcast, as it was here that he destroyed the autocross in not one, but three of his Chargers. This is a great show about road trips, racing, fabrication, and most notably, creating memories in those old sleds that many of us have

Mike and Chris, you set the date for the Charger road trip and we'll promote it through the magazine and bring our 10-second '69 driver.

I can agree to this. Been bingeing his channel for a while, not building a charger, but a challenger.

I have a '67 Chrysler 300 that was my daily driver from 2008 to 2014, and I have a few memories driving it. For some of that time, I would take a 150 mile round trip on a Friday night from Fresno to Coalinga, CA to lead a Bible study at the state prison. That's the kind of trip my car was made for!

I saw a 68 RT last week. Black with a red stripe. Sounded pretty cool. Chris is such a cool guy and I love his work. One day he might want to come up here to Alaska and find some treasures.

Wow this was an incredible show. Chris I wish I could meet you and share general lee stories. I lost mine to theft back in '14 and I miss that car terrible. The experiences I've had with that car were just so freaking awesome. You said alot that I can relate to. I watch your vids all the time. This was great of you to share thanks!

How in the firetruck did I not know about this show. Best show on the net that the two of you have ever been in. I LOVE both of yours stories. Opposite ends of the states. And I would be honored to meet you both. I live about 70 miles from Moparty in September. Yeah I got tired of hearing all the same nut and bolt bs too Mike..

You guys also forgot before fast and furious the 68 charger Wesley snipes drives in blade and it series. It's the quintessential bad ass car that can also be soft and timid depending in how it's set up

I stopped going to Mopar shows because people would either pick apart my car (as though I didn't know what wasn't factory) or just talk about money- what did you pay for that, what do you think it's worth, I bought this for X and flipped it for Y, etc. I also got fed up with people who brought nice cars to shows and then acted all snotty.
