Don’t miss this compelling episode as we delve into the details of Chris Caracci’s military and law enforcement service - a true master of tactical expertise.
In this episode you will hear:
• Marines are unique people. (7:53)
• I was only really good at climbing, and I was always climbing buildings. (12:52)
• I just happened to close a door and looked behind it, and what do I see? I see these twin 72 cubic inch scuba tanks. I grabbed ‘em and they were [made of] Styrofoam! (28:34)
• If I ever come up with something like Dementia, I hope I’m brave enough to identify it and go for a long swim. (35:21)
• In battle you learn one thing. [You need] water, and ammunition. (36:45)
• When you hit the water, you only got a matter of minutes, and if that parachute gets saturated, it’s an anchor. You’re going down. End of story. (38:26)
• If you never quit, you’ll never know how to. (39:37)
• [Marcus] The only reason I knew I could make it, it because I made it through hell week. (40:47)
• The reason they don’t give us - in my day - more psychological techniques, and even some physiological tricks - they wanna see who’s gonna do it on their own. (45:48)
• Free fall is difficult because there’s no gravity. (49:39)
• You still did one thing together - you get up in line and you examine each other’s equipment to make sure the guys are squared away and nothing bad’s gonna happen. (57:42)
• One of the reasons I was really driven to be a frog man was because they weren’t designed for any other purpose other than warfare. (60:59)
• There were so many cold war frogmen that were ready. There was no war but we were ready. (70:40)
• One of the first things I learned is that it wasn’t about muscle, it wasn’t about brawn - it was about the mind. (83:24)
• You can’t change the world. You have to learn how to navigate accordingly. (93:41)
• Where is there a war I can get in? Where can I stand up for somebody and fight but for a reason, for a purpose. (96:01)
• Life may be boring to me, but what makes life is being able to share it with someone special. (99:23)

In the mid 90s, I got a VHS tape from the Lottie group that had Chris Caracci teaching Tactical handcuffing and room clearing building clearing stairwell clearing and base level CQB. It was one of the best programs I had been to the time and his Tactical handcuffing course saved my ass 40 or 50 times. This was a really cool interview and I’m glad to see he’s still out there plugging away. I also had a shotgun video and a workout video they were over the top, but that dude is one solid guy, I trained with Denny Chalker and he too told some fun stories about Chris. Thank you TNQ for sharing this content.

Idk I'm like an hour in and I feel we're like an inch deep. If you read a lot of books or watch a lot of these video podcasts - I like it when they cut to the chase a bit. However I do know this guy is one of the old schools, where if I read and understand correctly, you kept what you did to yourself and the team MAYBE got recognition. I'm getting old, I used to hate responses exactly as I typed it. I was hoping for more fun and cool stories, we'll see. Edit: he did go gas pedal after the first about 65m for anyone else reading

I would do anything for one conversation with Marcus. I’m moving to Houston. I’m a single mom and he has no idea how much his story changed my life. Because of his story I was able to change my entire life and attitude around and I’m finally making me and my kids’ lives the dream we want it to be

Today at 1pm a flight of 80-90 year old Naval Special Warfare hero’s are returning to San Diego. There will be thousands of patriots there with American flags to welcome them home. Not just because they are hero’s but because they didn’t get the welcome home they deserved when they came home from Vietnam. Today we make it right.

It was great to see you again and hear your stories. Had you and Master Chief as instructors at Gunsite way back in the day. You pulled your hamsting racing us back from the targets. Good times. Oh, and your frickin' pet wolf. Marcus didn't ask you about that.

I would love to see Peter berg also direct a movie adaptation from Marcus’s second book “service” The after math of operation red wings and of how Marcus came back with broken bones and a broken heart but a willingness to still go back out and fight.
