Really cool guy. Had a smile through it all :) But, I'm shocked. I'm a Doctor in Barcelona (Spain). A guy that comes to the emergency room here with that kind of symptoms is operated IMMEDIATELY and goes home without a bill of 138000 dollars. He pays the operations with taxes to maintain the Health Care System, like all of the people in Spain. Truth is doctors here that start to work at the hospital after taking the national specialty exam, start earning 1800€ per month including the shifts money. 1st and 2nd year that. 3rd, 4th and 5th year of speciality between 2500-3000€ per month. It's less than what other colleagues in Europe earn in Public Health Systems, and sooooo much less that what American doctors earn. But more than other jobs here in Spain compared to us. But I think our system is more fair and doesn't let anybody behind or with a debt for life. And to be honest, I think that's what makes a society and a country great. To have to pay that money to live... That's insane, really. Insane. It's a mortgage for life. Something's very wrong with your system. You should sort out your priorities (no offense)

Glad to know that if I ever need a big heart operation I won't get a bill for $140k because I don't live in America. Even if he had insurance he'd still have gotten a substantial bill. The private healthcare there doesn't pay 100%. One of the worst places in the world to get sick.

Lol... No. The U.S. is the one of the worst (OECD) for healthcare for the average person. Of course, your counterargument could be, you'd get top-notch care if you're rich. Well, you can get top-notch care anywhere if you're rich, so that really doesn't need pointing out. Plus, the whole staunch religiosity is holding back a lot of stem cell work that's permissible elsewhere. Freedom to fail. Really depends on if you think you're a temporarily-embarrassed millionaire.
@veemacks7255
@veemacks7255 6 жыл бұрын
I'm from the UK but have also lived in America and currently live in Germany. In the UK the NHS is free (*) to everyone (*but of course is paid for by taxpayers). In America you're paying for armies of lawyers and claims adjusters who have the job of trying to not pay out whenever possible. In Germany there is some kind of basic healthcare but you have to pay for it, but you can also pay for a private healthcare plan as I do. I have a medical card and it says one thing on it: "100%". That's all she wrote. I can go to any doctor or specialist at any clinic or hospital and have any operation or treatments and it pays 100%, and it's cheaper than what I paid in America because they don't waste billions on lawyers trying to get out of paying and the hospitals aren't having to overcharge because the healthcare providers aren't trying to not pay. Get rid of the lawyers and simply pay 100% and it gets much simpler.

Unless you're old in Canada. Canadian politicians who are over the hill, cross the border into the U.S. for major operations, and the same goes for family members over the hill. Universal Health Care seems great on paper to the common moron that makes up the population in any country, but it's not free, and there's always a catch.

American’s even have to pay for medicine, how stupid is that!
@davidjames-cameron617
@davidjames-cameron617 6 жыл бұрын
Calvin Candie its not stupid actually. In America, we believe no one is entitled to other peoples work. People have to make medicine. People have to treat you. Other people's work is not free and you dont have the right to take other people's money because its helps you. Thats called stealing. Even if the majority votes to take more of other people's money, thats still immoral and stealing. We believe in private charity, which i personally act on constantly, however i shouldnt be forced at the threat of a gun (if you dont pay extra taxes, you get arrested, if you refuse arrest, people with guns force you there) to pay for other peoples stuff with my money. Thats immoral. It doesnt seem like it cuz the result is ultilitarian, but it is. Also, lets not forget that the other countries who utilize univeral healthcare are usually the size of one of America's medium sized states. If the United States implemented socialized healthcare, not only would we have extremely long "waiting periods" for surgeries and doctors appointments, not nearly enough doctors to service over 350 million people, not enough medicine for everyone, exc., but we would also be plunged into an economic decline worse than any seen in the history of the Western World in less than 5 years, which would not only obliterate our economy, but have a seriously bad effect on the rest of the Western World. All in all, I get why and sympathize with why you believe the things you do. You seem to be coming from a good place. But there is good in theory, and then there is good in practice. And even as Europe and Australia are practicing it, it still has its issues. Imagine those issues times literally 10+. Devastating. Just, really do more research before being so confident in your opinions
