The 3 kings of some of the most inspirational heavy sounding 90s alternative rock/metal. Chris reminded me of a friend of mine that passed away from drugs and the way he described seeing him more happy and/or healthy then realizing he's in a better place really hits hard. It's weird in a sense having a dream then hear someone else have something similar. Strange as fuck. RiP Cobain Staley Cornell

I was lucky enough to meet Chris once, i told him about the first time I saw Soundgarden in 1993. They were the middle act for Neil Young but the opening act was Blind Melon, Chris looks up at me from the autograph he was signing and says “wow, I almost forgot about that , Shannon was such a sweet person and so incredibly talented, just amazing. Thanks for reminding me”

Chad Robert , sometimes it changes from minute to minute. There's like a terrible impulse that hits you over and over again. It's a bad place to be. Andrew Wood's death was the first one to pass away. Chris wrote "Say Hello to Heaven" & Jerry Cantrell wrote "Would" in his memory. Temple of the Dog was named after a lyric to a song Andrew wrote. Both Chris Cornell & Layne Staley were tight with Andrew. Chris & Andy were roommates. Layne's fiancee Demri Parrott (she died in '97 from condition brought on by IV drug use called myocarditis, where the lining of the heart swells & gets inflamed leading to death, she was just 27). Layne & Andrew both had fiancees who were friends: Demri & Xana La Fuente. Andrew's band "Mother Love Bone" was first Seattle band to get signed to huge record deal & were literally days away from debut album drop when Andrew overdosed, Xana found him unconscious, he was in coma for two or three days before plug was pulled. Layne & Demri split in '93/'94, but the day before he died, former bandmate Mike Starr (also dead @ 44 yrs old), was with Layne, who was @ his apt, said that Layne insisted that he saw Demri the night before. As if she was waiting to accompany Layne to the other side. This entire circle of friends/musicians torn apart from drug addiction & suicide.

Man. When Chris was talking about how he wasn't sure if Layne was in a good place or not. That's exactly how I feel about him. I'm not religious at all so I don't believe in a manufactured afterlife. But I don't know where Chris is "spiritually." I'm still not over his death and I don't think I will be. I hope for all the musicians lost to be in good places ideally but that's not exactly easy to pinpoint.

We have lost so many great musicians.... it's a tragedy. I lost my best friend the same way Chris Cornell took his life..... we all played music together too. Ashley thank you for your concern☺. There was 3 of us and we worked together and played together. Unfortunately I just lost the other one on Wednesday the 20th to an overdose that came as a huge surprise😕😕.... so, there went an entire era of my life... you can't take it for granted, life. It's fleeting. You GOTTA enjoy the company you have before you cant. And yes, it's the pain that we feel that. Ends up Making these lyrics that are able to touch people all over the world!! Some special few are gifted w a way to take all the pain they've endured and buried and share it w us in a way that makes it personal and life altering-The end, writers are troubled souls... in a big way. Eddie Vedder almost didn't release, Alive. It was on the chopping block cuz it is part of Eddies childhood and he just said F it, leave it on the list. And just like that, the world was blessed w a song that has saved many countless lives- -Michael-

Layne Staley's perfect howling shrill and smooth gutteral voice was a largely unexplored weapon of progressive singing that explored bottomless potential. Please, don't worry dear sir, for these beings have already heard your voice and will hence ever forward insist that this is the standard, in Layne's voice, an abstract, living, that will live forever. I listen to Layne Staley sing, and I hear that which I was yearning for when I was a young man: answers for a complex blank page in an ever sprawling and entirely unwelcoming universe. When I was fourteen I was everything and had nothing... Jason Wampler

We NEVER really lose the ones we love..... EVER........ we leave a part of ourselves behind, and take a part of those we love with us.... I can't even begin to describe the feeling of loss so many of us share..... these were my peers as I'm 54....Layne, Shannon, Andy, Kurt, Scott, Chris, Mike, and so many more continue to pull me through my darkest days through their music.....I refer to them as a gang of "dark angels" that continually have my back.... and one day, I'll sit my ass right between them all and tell them how much they were loved and missed, not only by myself, but those who were also impacted by their lives.

I'm typically pretty skeptical, particularly with things involving the supernatural, but I think theres actually something to the deceased visiting us in our dreams. It's obviously unprovable and make sense that one might dream of the recently departed because death is a consuming time, however it's happened to me numerous times now, and every time the the dream feels different than a typical dream. Also, I've had dreams of two people who I didn't know died, until afterwards.

MysticHydra I have those kind of dreams, I have too many friends that passed away young and two in particular I keep dreaming about and it’s not just a regular dream but feels very real and vivid! I’ve also had a dream about my gramma and grandpa visiting me in a dream and I’ve had actual premonition dreams about events before the happened in waking life so I definitely believe it’s a huge possibility we are visited by deceased loved ones while we sleep!

This might sound corny but we lost a ton of great musicians over the past 40 or 50 years to overdose and there is an awesome Miracle plant called Kratom that is getting thousands of people literally completely clean and off of it because you don't even go through the withdrawals. It's cheap it's harmless and it works. I can tell you from experience and it killed some of the worst withdrawals I was beginning to have or ever have had. It was one of those months. But there is a petition out there that needs to get signed and needs to have so many votes or congress kicks it out after 30 days meanwhile the DEA and big Pharma are trying to muscle this into a schedule 1 class drug meaning this herbal supplement that is literally a ground up leaf will become the same weight in court as heroin LSD cocaine and all the rest. I'm in this to help people and see how many people we can save not make money. When I get the go-ahead from the higher up I will share the link everywhere I can.

In a way I hated that grunge was putting Rock back a bit even wasn’t the biggest fan of Alice In Chains for about the first year I heard of them Nirvana SoundGarden etc,But I will honestly say these great musicians didn’t dispatch Rock,Like many who come before and will surely come after,These great musicians and visionaries brought something new and exciting to the Rock genre, kind of added a nice splash of color to a canvas that maybe lacked inspiration!!!I also want to say Kurt,Chris,Layne etc were so incredible and I’m Thankful for their contributions to Rock along with their incredible band mates they’ve created a legacy that will stand for many generations to draw from,So I stand corrected as I now cannot put into words how much I appreciate these great artists!!!

I liked all their music. Chris had the best catalog because he was around the longest and really had the best overall.

Still love this band to bad layne had to waist his talent on drugs then death. I think he was a very depressed person and very deep. If u listen to his words in his songs he was very deep and depressed he chose drugs to deal with his depression. R.I.P

Because these guys were tormented and had some had terrible pasts. Also numbed it with drugs and it became an issue. That's also the reason why these guys were so dam good. True artists. They put their heart into it. Their everything. Chris seemed to make it through. But he didn't.
