Chris Cornell was originally part of The Schemps out of high school, he had a long career with Soundgarden starting in 1984, he later joined Rage Against the Machine band members in Audioslave in 2001. He did some solo work in between as well as an album with Eddie Vedder under Temple of the Dog. He committed suicide in 2017. He has always been my favorite vocalist in rock. RIP Chris

I was in the 2nd row of his last show just hours before he died. He passed away on May 18th 2017 in his hotel. The concert was in Detroit at the Fox theater and it was with his original band, Soundgarden. I frequent there seeing shows quit often. May I suggest a solo song of Chris's called The Keeper

Chris was from up here in the Pacific NW. He was with the band Soundgarden, I presume named after a piece of art in a Seattle that makes sound when the wind blows it. Soundgarden is thought to be one of the first "grunge bands". He made one album with a group, called "Temple of the Dog". He later was in a band called Audioslave, with members of '"Rage Against the Machine". He also did a number of solo work, some cover songs, and a number of songs for movies. Such an amazing talent. Gone too soon. 😔

Chris Cornell had the best rock voice ever,period the end. When a celebrity or famous musician passed away in the past it never effected me but when Chris took his own life I definitely hit me. Such a sad loss. It just shows you that fame and money can’t solve your problems and from my 44 years on this planet I’ve had wealthy friends and for the most part they always had the most amount of antidepressants prescribed to them and they were miserable. It’s sad because I believe that antidepressants have a huge role in suicides. RIP Chris Cornell. PS. The original version is by Prince by the way and O’Conner covered it in the 90’s

Chris. Thank you. For everything. ♥️ Chris was gifted. It’s like he was talking directly to you when he was singing. To say as fans that we miss him everyday is an understatement. I listen to him everyday. I look at him everyday. I know it sounds like a sick form of worship, but let me tell you something. His music, his energy literally healed me when no one or nothing else could. And I know there are thousands like me. Most ppl can’t be this honest. That’s ok. If you have the time go watch some of his solo performances like this one. Mesmerizing. Like a bird without a song. 😢

Prince wrote the song for Sinead O'Connor, I was at the concert in Indy (the one before Detroit where he "allegedly" committed suicide), and he sounded phenomenal. I have followed his career from the start. He left us with so many great songs. He doesn't just sing, he makes you feel something. You get a glimpse into his soul. You come away with a different emotion. I always get goosebumps. I love watching people react to Chris. I can see how his voice affects you and even tho it is sad he is gone, he lives on in you and in me and all that listen to his music!!!

Special Request: STAINED “something to remind you” LIVE! This mans ability to convey emotions through his voice and music is unparalleled. I think everyone at some degree has or can relate to this song. He was also dear friends with Chris and Chester Bennington who took his from Linkin Park who unfortunately took his life shortly after Chris passed. If you could please react to it it’s unbelievably touching. Cheers from Texas

Dominic- Thanks for suggesting this last night! What a SAD song! His voice is haunting! I am sharing it with my husband...He knows who Stained is, but surprisingly doesn't know much about them. lol. Check out Leo Moracchioli of Frog Leap Studios. He does metal covers of popular songs like Toto's "Africa" and Adele's "Hello". None of his 400 or so covers get blocked or copyright claimed. He plays all the instruments and has a sense of humor too.

Irony! In May 2021, Sinéad O'Connor claimed that Prince had assaulted her after locking her in his home shortly after the release of her recording of "Nothing Compares 2 U". She stated that after she escaped, he pursued her in his car, describing it as "the scariest thing I've seen in my life". She also claimed that she knew one woman whom "he put in hospital for months"

Sinéad O'Connor is well known for making up stories about people, the fact is that she didn't even know prince personally, despite claiming to be his friend in the past. Keep in mind she covered this song without permission and there was legal action because of this. She is a real nut job!
