This touched my soul. I lost my husband after a long 4 year illness in 2016 and then my mom suddenly to stage 4 cancer in 2018. I am still climbing out of the deep depression that sent me spinning into. Thank you for share this song with us. God bless you Chris.

I’ve found that I am currently still shattered. In June 2023, my almost 30 yr married husband decided he wanted a divorce cuz my illness was too much for him to believe “in sickness and health.” Then 2 weeks later my mom passed away from the same issues I’m dealing with and he still moved out of state. Every time I turn around, I’m realizing that I’m still broken and shattered. Chris, I’ve been on your rock star journey since the idol days….also knew you were the dawg on masked singer off the bat! Knew that voice anywhere! Thank you!

I'm so sorry you went through this! Praying that you are free from illness. I know somebody that stuck with their wife. Who was battling cancer and she did pass away to it. But he loved her even after.

I connected to it straight away, I lost my partner/soulmate last May, and yes I’m learning to live with a new reality. I will never be the same and it will always hurt. I’m still at the struggling stage, not really coping at all, I miss him so much. I think Pieces is going to be brand new favourite, ❤️ Daughtry

I can so relate to this song. I lost my oldest son at 33 then his dad 2 weeks later on my grandkids birthday. Losing my son has been the worst. But your song hit me and touched me to my core. I have always loved your music. I have all your albums. And just about every song has touched me in one way or the other. Thank you so much for being who you are.❤. Hopefully this song will help me figure out how to do it bc in the aftermath, how to go on is the hardest thing. Some days getting out of bed doesn’t even happen. I know I’m not alone here. And thank you for your gifts Chris. You’ve helped me more than you could possibly know over the past 13 years. Saw you in AC on the day Pieces was released. It was absolutely electric. My husband and I were married for 42 years! He was the love of my life. It’s been 8 months since he passed and I miss him every second of the day. I am definitely lost without him. Your song hit home for me. My faith and love for my son, grandkids, family and friends have helped me from going down that dark hole. Loved your music Chris ever since American Idol. Sadly I lost my Mom in November 2019 and then in February 2021 I lost my firstborn my 39 year old son and my heart truly shattered. Some days I feel as though I can’t breathe and other days I don’t want to wake up. The pain is unbearable and I think of them every single second of every day. Great interview. I hope that the songs that got pushed out by newer/better songs will see the light of day, maybe in a deluxe version of the album. I wish there was more talk/ insight/ masterclasses about writing an album, how to raise the bar, quality control, the sonic coherence etc.
