So it was absolutely pissing it down up there and as we were going along we see Nigel on his own running up the mountain. So my Dad winds the window down and goes Nigel you want a lift? He replies "No mate today is my birthday and this is my birthday present!". Fair enough we wished him well and carried on. I was only about 18 but right there I realised the dedication you need to be a World Champion.

Seeing my hero Nigel running in a location like that, reminds me of when he used to run up Mount Tiede in training camps for his fights. Was just what he needed to improve his stamina and it showed in the ring. Nigel Benn SR humility is so wholesome to see. Truly inspirational how he is able to praise his son with such admiration. I can tell that his fight with Gerald McClellan changed his life on how he viewed boxing. He met that man again in a wheelchair and without any memory of what had happened in their fight, you could see the pain in Benn's eyes. Glad to see that his family is continuing the journey.

Benn seems to have a better environment for the building up to this fight. I suspect Eubank is just putting on a show and pretending to take it lightly, but he's preparing as well as ever. That refuelling clause could really be a problem if the fight is fought at a fast pace and drags into the late rounds. It could be interesting because of the unpredictable situation with rehydration. We'll see.
