Think what you want of Eubank but he was for a pure warrior, his chin was top tier. People seem to forget this and the fight before this was at cruiserweight which is mad for a former middleweight

A great fighter, a great character, a great man - totally unique. Still on TV today in other roles, and still as entertaining. If he's on TV, I'll watch him.

Its not just that Chris could take a shot and stand up, he was willing to take every shot even when he was obviously losing.

He actually started at 154 did Eubank. Thompson was more like 220 in there on the night. He had one eye for most of both fights (Eubank)…..unbelievable.

Both the Thompson/Eubank fights were epic. Thought Chris was faster & got in some good punches early on. But Thompson stayed strong & was naturally bigger. He started getting on top.

At the time I always found him irritating out of the ring, but Christ, what a chin he had. Such a tough, tough man. From an extremely impoverished and rough background as well. Carved out of teak.

Eubank was robbed in the first fight between these 2 and was way ahead in this. Eubank was a great fighter. Thompson claims he stopped Eubank, he didn't a doctor at ringside did

Saw Chris box live in 1997 and was lucky enough to meet him in 2009, came across as a really nice person and even posed for a couple of photos with me and the Mrs. Dissapointed with that negative comment from Ian Darke at the end of this clip, especially as Chris had just gave everything against a much bigger opponent and gone out on his shield, he deserved to be respected at the end of that fight, especially being his last time in the ring, usually like Ian but that comment was not needed at all.

The superior size and natural weight advantage of CAT played a part in the outcome of this bout. Plus, Eubanks shades of his former self. Taking nothing away from CAT of course who showed again how good he was, after also beating David Haye. Decent British, fringe Euro level fighter.
