What I love about Pike's Peak is that it is so much closer to the kind of riding that most of us do than is racing on a track. Switchbacks and frightening cliffs, lots of second gear turns -- man! It is always fun to watch someone do something really well.

Purchased the 2020 1290 SDR let's just say after riding many new bike on the road since 1981, i find this the most comfortable and enjoyable bike ever ridden. I drive like am in my 20s again. This bike can be real evil if it didn't have anti wheelie, that's coming from guy who just uses his ZX14 for touring.

Honestly rather see an RC790. The 790 is bike they ARE building to be a powerful and lightweight scalpel for the street and wouldn't take much to RC the thing.

You should see how much better my 2020 1290 SDR what a machine. Being big guy the 1000cc superbikes after 30 minutes of riding am hurting everwhere. This KTM is so enjoyable to ride,if had fairing I could cruise across Canada .

I'd like to also have a record for the split time -- ie, an average of your best time going up, and going down. I think it's a lot easier to max out on the ascent. On the descent it'd be scary as phuck, and brakes would cop huge punishment. A record for ascent; descent; and the split.

This looks like a fun road to ride but everyone should know if you go there on your bike it’s a bust because there is too much traffic that travels at a snails pace. Also you can’t ride to the top you have to stop and take a trolley or bus to get to the end. Unless you can ride this when it’s a closed course Pikes Peak is not a riding destination.

Ktm is faster on slow turns and has bigger engine ( thin air in higher altitude).

the h2r is superchagred so it won't suffer from the altitude. but yes the ktm is probably faster in the slow turns.

Jesse Z the obvious answer is to turbo or supercharge the ktm. More power for the straights and won't suffer at altitude and the flick ability of the duke remains

Guy Martin's turbo bike had insane 500hp and even so he finished within the 11 minute mark. It is not about pure horsepower, it's about knowing the track enough so you can trim fractions of second in each curve you attack.

Wtf the information on your video is very misleading. It's says He sets the world record and won the pikes peak. FYI He didn't set the world record. LOEB did. He also did not win the pikes peak. The winner was a car. Please be more fucking specific. He won and set the world record for bike but not overall.
