This Audition was the first time I'd ever heard your name. I was hooked from the guitar intro as that's one of my favorite songs in the world. I don’t see how you could improve on this version. It’s subtle where it needs to be and powerful in a way the original lacked. Love the original too but I do prefer the heaviness to this version.

It`s actually not that rare. And it is on full display on youtube. It`s always easier to improve on something existing than to create something new. That`s especially true for writing of all kinds (music, lyrics, books, poems). And not all writers were good singers. They did the foundation and better singers build on it. Happens all the time. The only reason this might be somewhat perceived as rare is that most people prefer the version they are used to.
