They should have brought that up six months ago. It's too late now. The money involved for campaigning isn't transferable and that would just give over the the vote to Trump while they scramble to find and back someone else AND regain the money lost. I must say, I held the standards of the Democrats and American people to a higher level and expected common sense, however seeing how many felt it was so critical and more important to come out right before our President's meeting with NATO to air their feelings was absolutely stunning to me.
