The earth, and people who trust in the Most High God Jehova (Psalm 83:18), and who look to His Kingdom as the only solution to the mess this world is in (Matthew 6:9, 10), do not face extermination. Psalm 37:10 & 29 - `Just a little while longer, and the wicked will be no more; You will look at where they were, And they will not be there. Another hurdle to overcome is that there's money to be made in extinction. Mitsubishi have a huge warehouse full of blue fin tuna, enough to supply the market for the next 10 years plus but they are still hunted, there population has declined by 97% If they stopped hunting them, then the population would grow but this will devalue the blue fin tuna. Now, one blue fin tuna sells for 56,000 dollars...Source, Captain Paul Watson, Sea Shepherd.

I just wish Chris was the government frankly. We have a few brave, hard working but lonely voices trying so hard to save this precious planet. Being vegan is so easy and yet so overlooked across the media and the population at large. Having spent my youth chomping my way through my own body weight in cheese and meat I can safely say that if I can become vegan anyone can (and I'm much healthier too!).

What A great discussion, two wonderful people we are very grateful to . I think that most people do not know the reality of ham and bacon and chicken nuggets or simple don’t want to look and listen . And when they look at milk, they see a cow munching grass in a field living a beautiful life . Sometimes when you talk to people about dairy they only think of milk and don’t even think about cheese and ice cream. People are so good at walking blind and ignoring and suppressing anything and can’t imagine life without certain things . Unfortunately we are a small country . When most of the world doesn’t care , China, russia, India, south america etc I don’t think there is much global hope for anything living on this planet but as they say we have to all keep going and trying and keep coming together to empower and encourage and keep fighting with whatever hope we can . It’s hard to fight money , power and greed and convenience and cheapness and spending power but we all have to try as much as we can, time is exponentially running out . Thank you both to be so wise is a gift

So many great points in this video...especially around the issue of personal power and governance structures. My personal feeling is that large nations with centralised governance don't serve anyone best, but if it's broken down to smaller levels (which is already a trend, and will probably continue with independence for Scotland, Northern Ireland, maybe Wales, Basques, Sardegna etc.) we need them operating within a peaceful global framework, so that things like the SDGs, Paris Agreement, telecoms, transport etc can all continue.

Thank you Chris, for this thought-provoking expression of your views. Thank you, too, Juliet for highlighting these immoral and unethical practices. We wish that we had a government that was ethical and morally minded - rather than one which condones many poor and destructive practices as acceptable; a government that is complicit in perpetuating animal cruelty by grants. subsidies and maintaining the status quo. Rather than examining and evolving a healthier and sustainable system - a government that should be acting on the expert advice given them rather than responding to profit margins and maintaining the old world order. The only way each one of us can detoxify our lives of this pandemic of animal cruelty is to go vegan, and cease the unnecessary killing of creatures that have a right to exist on this planet with the same respect and dignity we like to attribute to ourselves. We have a world of plant-based food - we don't need to torture, kill and eat animals. Scientists inform us that the world's population can all thrive on a plant-based diet more fairly - why are governments still perpetuating a destructive animal-based diet. Governments have been privy to the destructive nature of this animal-based regime for years, why have they done nothing? You are what you eat and nobody in their right mind would say that animal diets are just or even necessary. Unfortunately this is not the only area of animal farming that processes the life of a creature into a unit of coin. The insidious fact that reveals itself here - is that this intensive factory farming, devoid of ethics, morals and reason, does not end with the death of these sentient creatures, but continues through a chain to ourselves. We become as objectified as these animals for the sake of profit alone. These practices are awful, the end product is unhealthy and we are getting sick with diseases attributable directly and indirectly to an animal-based diet. Have we - humanity - reached the age of reason yet ? or will this last global catastrophe, borne of inaction and complacency, be the fatal legacy of this generation. Don't wait for governments to change - act now, make a stand in whatever way you can to make a difference. We are conscientious objectors - we are Vegan.

There is only One government that can and will fix the mess this world is in. Jesus is King of that Kingdom Government. He encouraged his followers to pray for it in Matthew 6:9, 10, so that God’s will will be done on earth. Daniel 2:44 - `The God of heaven will set up a Kingdom that will never be destroyed. And this Kingdom will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it alone will stand forever.’ Daniel 4:25 - `Know that the Most High is Ruler in the Kingdom of mankind and that He grants it to whomever he wants.’ And He has chosen Jesus Christ. Daniel 7:13, 14 - `With the clouds of heavens someone like a Son of man was coming; he gained access to the Ancient of Days ... And to him there were given rulership, honor, and a Kingdom, that peoples, nations, and language groups should all serve him. His rulership is an everlasting rulership that will not pass away, and his Kingdom will not be destroyed.’ End time Bible prophecies are being fulfilled at an exciting rate everyday now. Soon, the most exciting prophecy will be fulfilled. Revelation 11:18 - `Nations became wrathful, and your own wrath came, and the appointed time came for the dead to be judged and to reward ... those fearing (respecting) your name ... and to bring to ruin those ruining the earth.’ Rather than seeing this as a doomsday prophecy, I see it as a rescue mission. If God’s Kingdom doesn’t come as He says it will, then this earth is facing extermination at mankinds own hands. God wont let that happen😊🙏🙏🏿🙏🏽🙏🏾

During a documentary following the twin towers disaster, there were ppl who witnessed it from their homes and offices, with varying reactions. Surprisingly, there were those who merely viewed the whole event with cold dispassion. One man actually said “What’s everyone getting upset about? We're not in there”. A perfect example of the explosion of narcissism throughout humanity. I mention this because if we can’t empathise with fellow human beings, what is the likelihood animals will ever be valued? We are all part of nature and respect for all living creatures, whether we like them or not, needs to be encouraged. They have the right to share the earth. Some of us become aware if this instinctively, others need to be reminded. Schools, I feel, is where such education should begin.

Agreed. I know a few people who like things to be so man made, clean and clinical, it's almost as if any encroaching in of nature frightens them. They've even said in the past they'd like a world without 'creepy crawlies'. I tried to explain that we need insects for survival of all other life on earth, but they just didn't get it! You don't have to love animals and nature, and it's ok to be frightened of something, phobia's are very real and I get that, but just respect life and understand it's value, not just for our dependency, but for it's own sake. If children learnt this from a young age in school, how all beings, not only humans, deserve respect and to live with dignity, it would make such a difference.

Would love to see a Chris Packham documentary on mainstream TV about animals traditionally considered as 'farm' animals. Similar format to a wildlife doc or the ones he usually does (think a recent show of his was called 'Animal Einsteins') based on latest scientific research on intelligence, social bonds, rearing young etc... But also touching on how the majority of these animals actually live. For example, spending a whole episode documenting the life of a happy pig and her family, maybe pigs living wild or at a sanctuary. Building up drama and suspense over any challenges or dangers they face (just like a lot of recent wildlife docs do, thinking of meercat dynasties here!) so the viewers at home have time to understand the needs and motivations of these characters, fostering a real sense of empathy for the subjects of the film. At the end of the film, sharing some facts such as over 90% of pigs raised in the UK are factory farmed, showing what RSPCA approved actually means for these animal's living conditions (a clue: not much) how old they are when they die and how they die. I doubt graphic footage would be allowed on such a show, but just stating the facts might be enough to help audiences start to put things together themselves and ask questions. Also, random side note: loved Chris Packham since 'The really Wild Show' on cbbc together with Michaela Strachan. Anyone else's fond childhood memories? 😂🌱❤️

This would make a great commercial. It starts with a mother giving birth. The nurse hands the baby to the mom and as soon as she does the doctor rips the baby from her arms. She screams no, but the nurse holds her down. As the doctor walks away with the baby he turns to the camera and it zooms in on him and he has a milk mustache and he says,."Drink milk it's good for you."
