I think 2 reasons why he chose the Spurs. (1) Become the OKC CP3 again, help and mentor a young team go to the playoffs. While also improving his usage rate compared with his time in Golden State. (2) Once he retires and plans to become a coach or work in the front office, there's no better place to start than the Spurs organization.

That already happens defensively with the young guards last season 😂 When wemby is on the floor they are top 5 defensively, when he’s not they are bottom 5. Wemby is constantly covering up others mistakes. The only way you get worse defensively is by having a small 6’1” pure shooter out there. Plus the spurs needed a veteran, they got one

When was the last time Paul was healthy for a long stretch? The trade makes sense, cause it's just a 1 year deal, they can use him and see what he brings to the locker room and for other players. Personality wise, I'm not so sure.

This is a great move. All they needed was a hi IQ vet to help set the tone. I think all the young guys will fall in line. Because last year they barely wanted to give wemby the ball but now CP3 will command that respect and they will fall in line for sure. Plus he can help the rookie PG grow and become someone that can take over as the main PG. I think this team will be a a play-off team in a year or two. Or could surprise us this year.

He knows his time is short playing in the nba,cp3 hasn’t been on a contending team since he was in Houston back in 2017.Yes getting a ring would b nice for him but he can’t play at a elite level right now so yes mentoring young guys & being a leader on a young team would b his focus in my opinion

What are you talking about? Spurs have been a non-contender for more than 10 years, it's not like he joined them during early 2000s when they dominated the league. They have potential nowadays because of Wemby they aren't gonna win any time soon. If he joined Celtics however, then you could say what you did, but that didn't happen.

Wemby has been overly blessed by being put in the perfect situation. He has the skill set, size, he's in arguably the best ran organization in the league, he has proven mentors in Duncan, David Robinson, Ginobli and one of the greatest basketball minds in coach Pop. Now he has CP3 he can learn from early on in his career. Outside of injuries, there's no way he can he fail.

Awesome for wemby to learn how to read the game from cp3. Wemby could lead the league in scoring next year and be DPY in the same year. If they can bag Klay as well they instantly have a chance at a good run and get to try and trade for more young talent while the 2 vets teach all the young guys.

I really can't understand what our GM and owner are thinking... They want to build around Steph, but we let go our 2 biggest assets instead of trading them... Who do they think we are going to get to back up Steph? I don't see anyone coming, just budget cutting by the owner cause he doesn't see any good options, so let's throw in the towel, the dynasty is over and we're not going to try to compete anymore.... Oh btw, those tickets are still $400 regular season in the nose bleeds and drinks are $28 for a single shot and we don't sell double shots.
