Chris Gorsuch plays this concert in his exciting style with a variety of great music. See and hear why he was the chosen the ATOS organist of the year. A treasure never before seen from American Media archives.

A great opportunity to hear a master at work and so wonderful that this concert was 1. filmed and 2. brought to the public eye. Chris was a gentleman and a down right funny guy. A wonderful organist and an even better organ technician. R.I.P. Chris!

Well said Mark Demmin II! I grew up listening to him, my family went to his house and I played his X-66 Ralph and Millie were wonderful people. So many nights at OPP hearing the old Foorte Moller then the now back in KC beautiful Morton. It all started of course at the Clairmont location that had the 3 /17?? ( don't exactly remember) WurliTzer. And tgen of course what was left of the old Uptown Wurli. The things I learned will always be with me. Yes R.I.P. old friend.

Very exciting indeed, thanks a million for posting! That Gershwin medly was madly marvellous.. Wonder what happened at plm 30.40 where the sound seems to be monoral all of a sudden, maybe taken from a different recording source? A BIG thank you also for all the guys (and dolls?) who made this recording possible, organ team, Orpheum staff et etc.. A standing ovation from my humble post in Holland, have enjoyed this tremendously.

Which Orpheum and what is the organ? To my ear, it's a rather "harsh" instrument like it needs a bit of revoicing to have the smooth silky sound of a good theatre organ.

This is the 3/30 Wurlitzer at the Phoenix Orpheum. And the sound of the organ may be harsh because of the recording equipment used. In professional CD recordings, the instrument sounds fabulous in that room. The theater is an atmospheric auditorium with the solid dome sky.
