His stamina on the AC/DC Donnington show is just astounding. It can actually be harder to do a simple beat for a long time because your mind can drift. He was a machine but with the feel of a human.

I'm a drummer. I played to the double cd of it back in my 20's and it left me completely drained, blistered, and I didn't touch the kit for a week afterwards due to the blisters on my hands . I'm in my 40's now and I can't think of a better way to have more fun with pharmaceutical help😅😅😅😅😅😅 cause that's the only way I could possibly conceive of getting through that whole concert again 😅😅😅

Whatever... he completely blew it on the rock or bust tour dude couldn't keep good time and trainwcecked the band every night there definitely won't be a live album from that mess...he wasn't the right feel even in 90

Scotsmen, Welsh are my favorites in classic rock, such a real and jocular approach to the part. Jimmy Page saying he’ll wait…………the ultimate compliment!!!

Always great to hear these kinds of stories. The guys that played with "the guys". Mustve been so cool to mix in those circles, although I think I'd have been a little overawed 😂

Mr. Slade, all my admiration for your career as a drummer-musician, I've never seen anything as you did playing | Let There Be Rock at Donington and this will endure in time, so I wish you all the best, keep well!!

I just looked up Manfred Mann. He’s actually 84, born in 1940. This doesn’t detract from the marvellous drummer you interviewed.

Chris is such a classy gentleman! It’s unbelievable the musical history this man has been a part of! I had the pleasure of meeting him at a small restaurant/bar called Pancho’s in Manhattan Beach, California where he played a few songs with the house band. Matt Laug would also play there on a regular basis with the house band! The musical talent that would show up at this little bar was unbelievable!

Springsteens Blinded By The Light was transformed into something 'altogether more different' and it's eventual metamorphosis into the art/rock prog extended classic that many are familiar with was an inspired move, & one that paid dividends! That aside another really fine interview with a musician whose 'musical cv' speaks for itself! Huge respect !!😊
