I legit only just discovered Chris Stapleton by complete accident less than 72 hours ago. I mean, I'd heard of him, but my baseline preferences includes "don't like Country" as a general statement - there is certainly some country that I've liked, but it's seldom. And, yo, I also know this song is very little Country, mostly blues, but he is generally a 'country' artist. So anyway, I came across the collaboration with him & Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran on an Amazon shuffle, and was all, - 'what/WHO is this??!'. That led me to look it up, which led to his and Justin Timberlake's 'Say Something', then their live performance of Tennessee Whiskey - so, then I was totally down the bunny trail with Chris Stapleton. I've now added all his music to my Amazon Music, and there are several songs that will be added to my lifetime rotation! 😍 *But! I just heard *this song for the first time and just about came off the floor! Dayum! It's no wonder he gets such wide 'cross-genre' cred!!! 💓

I wanna comment, but you just said it!... Man, I am so happy he made it! I've been listening to him for a good while now, and I'm happy to hear him try his hand at some southern blues-country. Even in his bluegrass days it was easy to tell he had a soulfulness he wanted to release... "Stank face" is the perfect description!
