Chris is probably one of the greatest guitarists of our time that isn't just a neo-classical shred machine. He can shred fucking incredibly, but he writes whole songs, not just long impressive solos, I was so sad when he left All Shall Perish, hopefully we will see him in another band soon because I can't get enough of the way he plays guitar

@Rawrb1063 he is in drop b for a seven string which i have used before (bottom to top) b,f#,b,e,a,c#,f# giving him drop tuning for easy chugs and a step above standard tuning for sky high solos

@risingxforce that's what everyone does when recording. rofl. you try to do 5 string sweeps without muting the strings to record. it would sound muddy as hell if they weren't muted. and i'd lovw to see you try to do what this guy does

@TheDude9899 those are 2 very different styles of metal but they can both shred incredibly fast. the only thing chris has over zakk is that he can sweep and zakk doesnt.

Its not a capo its to make sure that if he happens to hit a note he dosint want to that it dosint accually ring.

@bchoun there is absolutely no feel in this, he is just playing fast he is not taking each note and making the most outa of it, he is just going for how fast he can play in each solo, u dont have to play so to feel go listen to a satriani or a vai or wylde or van halen

its to stop the strings from buzzing when he let's go of a note, it ensures a perfect recording without sloppiness, you still need to know how to Olay without it though
