Shopping for my new car build! As most of you guys may know, my 2020 WRX STI is up for sale. With that being said, it’s time to look for a replacement! Yes the C5 Z06 is 5.7 L LS6 405 hp it has a fixed roof (FRC) more desirable than the base C5 LS1. You'd save some money getting the base C5 and building it

To add to this, they did make a C5 FRC that is not a z06. Which would be a little cheaper than paying z06 prices and still has the style of one. IMO the FRC looks better than the base.

Honestly, I wouldn’t mind whatever new build you decide. I feel like whichever brings you the most joy/excitement to build & shit will show in the content and be best in the end. Don’t be afraid to go out of the norm if it’s what you wanna try! 💯

My vote out of those two is E92. Corvette would be different, but I think probably tricky for content. The key with E92 is making sure the maintenance is done. Those can get expensive very quickly. Will be curious to see what you end up with!

A big factor when it comes to getting an e9x M3, if you want to keep it long term, you'll have to do the piston rod bearings. That job can be expensive, my dads shop gets a bunch of e9x M3 for that one job specifically

E92 m3 is one of the best cars ever made. Im gonna get another thats dct. Dct is 100x better than manual. I had the manual, but can tell the car was built around the auto. I 100% recommend supercharging it aswell. Car feels like it should have been supercharged from factory.

honestly for content wise and build a new audience i think c5 is the choice. Not much people are building c5s. and it’s cheap compared to other cars u want. They’re the next “high schooler” car so u can capitalize on that

If you go c5 base model get a late 01-04. The abs module in the older years was an issue if I remember correctly along with other differences. You can probably get an A&A supercharger and have it make decent power while being Carb Legal as well. I have an 08 gt500 they’re pretty fun as well. Pulley/Intake/Tune you’re making well over 500whp with a manual & screaming supercharger. Interior is pretty comfortable as well & you don’t see them very often

Don’t do the vette. If you need to change the clutch it is super difficult because the way it is built.

C5 seems risky at a glance but I honestly think it’s less risky then you think. Not many people have these builds especially with your style so the market isn’t saturated. Plus the amount of content it would create is limitless
