Wow!!!! This is the Chicago Public School butter Cookie recipe that they used to make and sell in the lunch room as a kid...when I make them now, i do add vanilla extract in them and cook them a little longer to get the light golden brown on them. Thanks for the throw back!

KZfaq have taken you and many others out my lineup, I just seeing this I am from Duval County, Fla and this similar to a recipe my friend mother worked at the Duval County School Board and they had this a lot with Cream of tartar and Vanilla flavor it was a 5 ingredient and I found the Chess Cookie that reminded me of those cookies we ate in the lunch she gave me the Butter cookies and the Cinnamon Rolls recipe in the 80’s

These cookies could be dressed up lots of ways or leave them plain. Drizzle with chocolate or frost them, dipped in a glaze. I'm going to make them just like Miss Chris says first. She's always right!

In your recipe are you using salted or unsalted butter? Also, try sprinkling some colored sugar crystals on top of the cookies prior to baking them. When baked you will end up with a festive cookie that has a little more sweetness. A Definite Must Try...Thank you
