Free Voice Lessons: chrisliepe.com/free-your-voice/
My Website: chrisliepe.com
I want to encourage you to try something: Speak something normally, and then... SING something in the way you'd "normally" sing.
How does your speech voice differ from your singing voice? ...In tone ...In timbre ...In expressiveness? When you listen to Jack White talk, and then sing, there is a WORLD of difference. We can learn a TON from his approach in terms of diversifying our sound and create opportunities in our own voice for new tonal and range-related possibilities.

His paid courses are seriously worth the money. I'm doing his "Discover Your Voice" course and and almost finished with it. My singing is head's and shoulders better than it was 4 or more months ago when I started. I like it enough that I'd offer to refund your money out of my own pocket, if that were feasible for me. I'm a singer by necessity and it's been great for me. If you're a singer at heart, I can pretty much guaranteed you'll do even better than I have been doing.

Chris's free course is really good but his invitation-only "Discover Your Voice" course is pretty amazing. For the first time in 35 years of singing/writing/recording/performing, I actually recorded a vocal a month or so ago that I like. Even a month later. Thank you Chris!

Can confirm. I can now listen to my voice on a recording and think "hey, that's not too bad!". This is going to sound like blowing smoke, but it isn't - I have taken singing courses and had vocal lessons but I didn't make much progress. I have improved noticeably with Chris' course.

Anyone else get a 30 days singer ad 😂 I do not recommend it. Chris has his own course which is cheaper and soooo much better with just 7 weeks I’ve learnt sooo much more than what I would’ve thought definitely worth the money if you have some to spare and want to learn how to sing I highly recommended his course you will not regret it.

I really have to praise you. Great explanations. I actually practice these things with my coach. I changed my coach again. I went to New York for a while and had classes there. Paid a lot of money but something was missing. So now I am practicing various methods over Skype with my new coach. Very identical to the ones you are talking about here. And that also helps me a lot. It's just a shame that I don't find anyone like that in Real. So I have to keep working on Skype, but better than nothing. I had bronchitis. Coughed a lot. My last 2 singing lessons weren't the best. My next lesson is on Thursday, I hope it goes better. The advantage is that these coaches are also on stage. One of them sings metal. And that's really cool🤘🏻thanks for the video Chris💯🙏🏻

Hey Chris! Have you ever thought about doing one of these on Billy Corgan? His voice is so incredibly his own, and I’d like to see your analysis on him. My personal favorite examples of his voice are on Gish and Siamese Dream, as it’s little less whiny and nasal as it is on Mellon Chollie.
@chrisliepe
@chrisliepe 3 жыл бұрын
I've thought about it! will most likely happen someday!
@RyTrapp0
@RyTrapp0 3 жыл бұрын
I was LITERALLY going to ask this! I think Billy Corgan is an important one because he was mocked in the early days of Pumpkins because of how nasally he sings - and, yet, now he's a pretty iconic voice with songs that are adored by everyone(seriously, who doesn't like 'Today' or 'Tonight, Tonight'?), nasally sound or not. I think he's a great example of overcoming what many may consider "embarrassing", as he's easily surpassed his critics. His return with 'Zeitgeist' needs to be touched on as well as 'Gish' & 'Siamese Dream' - his voice really sounded great in the HEAVY rock they laid down on that album. Also, the TSP album that influenced me most, 'Adore', also has some interesting vocals of note too. ...besides, Chris will then have covered my by far 3 greatest musical influences that have shaped everything I do in music - Chris Cornell(particularly Sound Garden & Audioslave), Trent Reznor, and Billy Corgan, these three & their groups provided me with a huge variety of sounds and styles in my early teens that just transformed the way I think about and understand music, the way I write, the sonics that I explore(, etc., etc.)

Whenever I try my mix, my supported head voice, my crybaby/cat stuff, (trying to learn from C. Cornell, K. Cobain, Jack white, Steven Tyler, etc.), I just sound like Axl Rose, and I hate it! Is there anything I can do to work on my tone, or is it just my natural tone for that? P.S.: I think Jack White is quite influenced by Led Zeppelin, and he can sing Led Zeppelin even better than Robert Plant.
