The show was never really about Elena and the two brothers vying for her affection. It was about the bond of Damon and Stefan's brotherly relationship. I'm a guy and the scene where Stefan and Damon are reunited after leaving Bonnie in Kai's Purgatory brought tears to my eyes.

i was so mad when stefan sacraficed himself in the end for damon and elena like i would have loved it if they made elena sacrafice herself for damon and stefan or idk something like that. literally everything was about elena but tvd was more kind of stefans story like he said in the beginning of the first ep and i want nothing more than damon to have the perfect life but with STEFANNNN CUZ AFTER A WHOLE CENTURY THEY FINALLY LOVE EACH ORHER LIKE BEFORE their bromance literally deserved so much better

Delena, stelena... in the end nothing of that matters. "Nothing's more important than the bond of family" - and this sentence sums up their storyline on the show. Their relationship makes me so emotional and when damon came back...OH MAN, THAT HUG BROUGHT ACTUAL TEARS IN MY EYES. Something which hasn't been happening a lot to me when comes down to TVD. This video is a masterpiece. I love the way you showed all the ups and downs between them and i'm not even say anything about this song. Everytime I hear it I start crying a river. Congratulations and thank you for giving me the opportunity to watch such perfection!

The difference between the first episode when Damon said ‘hello brother ‘ compared to the last episode when he said ‘hello brother ‘ shows how much they had grown throughout that whole series and i think the whole TVD was about the bond of the Salvatore brothers and like it was said ‘ they may fight like cat and dog but at the end of the day they would die for each other ‘ 💓💓

Was Damon ever a parental figure in Stefan's life? Its an afterthought of another thing, but after watching the seasons in few months, I got the feeling that Damon acts a lot as a Big Brother to any and all characters at some point. Other then the self-destructing tendencies, temper issues and often bad luck, Damon seems like the most 'safe' character due to how fiercely protective he is. And I would argue that it is not JUST about Stefan and Elena for many seasons. Damon seems to have/had a soft spot for Liz, Caroline, Jeremy, Bonnie, Alaric, Enzo... Though clearly his baby bro comes infront of everything. With the flash back not so long ago, and all the talk about babies, the question kind of got in my head.

I love the Salvatore brothers. When siblings are portrayed on tv I love to see how they act and if it's accurate to a typical sibling relationship. That's why I love watching Damon and Stefan. I love how you can see how visibly happy Stefan was when he met up with Damon again in 1912 and the 40s. I love how Damon says he will be there with Stefan until he doesn't need him anymore. I love how in some scenes you can see Stefan just looking up at Damon and smiling. They may not be the perfect pair of brothers but they would die for each other and that's what I love most about them.

I think this is the most important message in Tvd. That family is so important. No matter what Stefan and Damon would always die for each other . Even if they hate each other they still love each other. Family is so much stronger than any ship like Stelena or Delena etc. I love them both so much and I cry so damn hard everytime i see this scene in 6×05 when Damon comes back.

I started watching these series just 2 weeks ago and I realized that I have been travelling to work with my two collegues for a year, and who are not only Damon and Stefan look alikes, but even their character matches more than looks. It's just unbelievable coincidence.

This video just goes to show that The Vampire Diaries isn't just about vampires. It is about Stefan and Damon and their relationship. It's about how much they might fight but in the end, they would die for each other and they care for each other in a way stronger than any other feeling. That is what this amazing show is truly about. The bond of famliy.

The show has its flaws but the entire story of the Salvatore Brothers is absolutely phenomenal almost 200 years of history and they did a perfect job of showing their ups and downs through all that time and that under all the horrible things they've done to one another they have always loved each other .....

I can't help but keep coming back to this video. I love it so much. As much as I love Stelena (I mean I started watching the show when I was 18 when it first came out and I was hopeless romantic), I think Damon and Stefan's relationship was far more superior. I honestly think that's what the show was about. Damon learning to forgive Stefan, and Stefan learning to stop feeling guilty/loathing himself for it. The development from start to end was beautiful. The fact that the last scene in the show was Damon reuniting with Stefan. It says a lot. That love was genuine and amazingly written.
