@RafitoOoO

Anxiety
@corvinhc
@corvinhc 11 ай бұрын
The main reason at high level play is to conceal what you've drawn. When you don't shuffle your hand your opponent will know what cards you keep holding and what are the ones you are playing from the top of your deck. Like for example, let's say an opponent thoughtseizes you and sees a lightning bolt, now next turn you top deck another lightning bolt, if you dont shuffle your hand and just play it immediately your opponent will know that you still have one left, if you shuffle your hand first he will probably assume it's the one he saw with thoughtseize. The same is true for cards you expect but dont know according to the deck they're playing and might be holding, over time most skilled players can estimate a range of cards that players could be holding, if your opponent always plays cards without shuffling the hand first you will get a much higher accuracy for reads into your opponents possible hands. So shuffling your hand is a good habit to get into because you want to do it after every draw.

The constant shuffling of ones hand should be illegal. It’s so irritatingly disruptive to sit across from.

They need to do something to make it easier to see and know the cards on a casual watch, i know people arent fans of watching arena gameplay but paper is actively worse from a spectator perspective

To be clear, for the other 99% of the games played they should be paper for ease comfort and general fun of using your own cards. But for the major main stage feature matches, they should be on arena just for veiwability, ease of interaction, less judgecalls, and general amount of information available to be viewed as a spectator

Have you ever played Modern on Arena?

You cant make this tournament on Arena. Arena is a different Environment with own algorithms and own problems (starting Hand, thoughtseize Bug, set stops and so on...). Magic on Arena is a different game.

Someone’s gotta talk w/ production about the weird zoom ins on that random woman, very jarring and odd!

Yeah that was super weird. I figured maybe I missed some background, like that's Jake's wife or friend or sister or something. Edit: Ah, at the end of the video she goes on the stage and they say she's his girlfriend. I'd say the pan overs make sense now.
