Hi, my parents dont approve because i want to be with someone older than me. We both love serving, they think he will take my youth life away. We are about the same age gap 8 years. I am 18 and he is 26. I've known him for three years and I am going through hard times because my parents think I am confused and they dont let me talk with him anymore

Wait until you're about 22 - 24. If your parents are still saying stupid ish like that, then it is confirmed that they are both ageist and selfish. They are trying to control you. Don't wait until you're too old to realize it.

@@danitzayanez4801Have they ever met the man? Do they have any proof of Biblical or ethical violations to the marriage? Because if all they have to go off of is the age gap, then that honestly means that they can’t actually disapprove of him. And as you’re a legally consenting adult and will be called to have your own life aside from your parents after you’re married, you can make the choice for yourself as to whether or not you should be with your man.
