What do you think is a good length of wrap? I see a lot of varying sizes when I shop online. Is there such a thing as too long?

Jennifer Hays I think it depends on how you to wrap your headcovering and hair length and weight. If you like wraps that are full headcoverings, a bit more material is good. If you like wraps that are halves or do not have a lot of tying, less material is good. The longer and thicker your hair is the more material you need to cover it. Given all that - all the wraps in Let’s Wrap videos I use are 70” by 21” rectangles. I typically shop at The Wrap Life and Fanm Djanm. Another popular headcovering shop is wrapunzel. I hope that helps!

By far my favorite. The amount of volumizer I would need to get a decent looking braid is questionable.

No reason to be put of by criticism. The Jewish women for 1000s of years covered their head like this. There is many different names to it. It doesn't take away from having different ways of doing it. Keep going. Nobody was attaching any culture or nation for that matter. As far as I now, so does many women in Arab countries.

Your theft of black culture is disgusting. Changing the names and not giving the history is insulting.

I support being inspired by other cultures, but what makes it cultural appropriation is when you change the name, as if to give credit to yourself. Black women have had this as part of our culture for centuries. This is called a sun wrap, and the style is not an “upside down Dutch braid.” It’s called the elephant braid. If you take form someone’s culture be respectful and use proper terminology.

It is fully possible that she thought it up independently without researching other culture's ways of doing it or naming it.

@@Sisterlisk Black women have been wearing this since before slavery. To insulate a white person just thought of something that has been apart of blac tradition for centuries, is very disrespectful to black people .

We all at sisters through Christ Jesus so please let's show love to everyone and not discriminate or accuse anyone of anything. The fact that you are so offended by her using this style with a different name shows you may have some personal issues you need to deal with before jumping in the comment section.

@@jackiehigh7532 I am offended because it’s disrespectful to take from someones culture and rename, like they invented something new. It’s exclusion and erasure of the people who originated it, not to mention disrespect to an entire group. A true sister in Christ would not be okay with disrespect of another sisters culture.
