Yes Mahdi isn't a prophet, he is the Antichrist, and since Islam teaches that the Mahdi will be accompanied by the Prophet Jesus who is the False Prophet predicted in the Bible to come with the Antichrist and who will deceive people claiming he wasn't the Son of God etc and he will exercise the power and authority of the Mahdi/Antichrist by deleting people just as described in Islam. Yes the Antichrist will declare himself to be a God above the real God and he will bring a temporary peace and stability to earth and will appear everything we long for, and he will deceive many because he will appear as a great and mighty person who will perform signs and wonders to deceive people to believe in him being a God. And he will set up his throne and statue in the Jewish 3rd Temple that the he himself will build and let the Jews worship for 3 and a Half Years which is part of the peace treaty that The Mahdi/Antichrist will make with the whole world but will break that treaty after 3 and a half years. Plus the whole thing will last for 7 years just as described in Islam which talks about the Mahdi's reign for 7 years, and on top of that the Antichrist is depicted as a military genius who will conquer the world and have rule and dominion over every tribe, and will ride on a back of a white horse just as described in Islam where the Mahdi will ride on a back of a white horse. And yes many Christians will be deceived by the Mahdi/Antichrist and as a result will turn to apostasy just as the Bible predicted, and anyone who will worship or obey the Mahdi/Antichrist will be made to wear a mark of the Beast of 666 on their foreheads or on the back of their right hand. Without which you will not be able ot buy or sell anything and will be persecuted and as the Bible predicted, the Antichrist will declare war on the Saints/Christians who still stay loyal devoted Christians despite what happens. Of course I'm sure that many Muslims will refuse the Mark of the Beast 666 and they will suffer the same faith as Christians/Saints will but Jesus promised in the Book of Revelations that who ever rejects the Antichrist/Mahdi and refuse to worship him, will be resurrected and make it to Heaven/Paradise.
