Did you know I almost never became a fan of Miraculous? I'm pretty sure I had seen pictures of it on cereal boxes or random thumbnails occasionally, but my only reaction was, "Huh, that looks weird." 😏😜 The thought to watch it would never have occurred to me and the only reason I did was thanks to my brother who described it so enthusiastically I had to see it for myself. (And thus an enduring love and obsession was born. 💥😍😉✨) I pretty much watched the first three seasons on repeat after that, and I have been a fan to this day. It's become such a huge part of my daily life and overall happiness, (or unhappiness - depending how an episode goes 😝😏😂) but it's crazy to think it never would have happened if not for the recommendation by my brother.
I still remember that conversation pretty well actually. He had this big smile on his face as he told me about this cute and clumsy girl who was really kind and sweet despite being a walking disaster, and how she was granted the unusual power of luck which gives a random magical object to solve a puzzle to defeat the villain. The fact she used a yo-yo as a weapon intrigued me, as did discovering the villain would harness people's negative emotions and manipulate them to fight against her. I was also drawn by the fact it was a love story with the SUPER unique twist of the characters being stuck in a love SQUARE (can we appreciate that for a minute?) and I was looking forward to the undoubtedly funny and exciting situations that might come out of it.
He also totally spoiled it for me by saying Hawkmoth was Adrien's dad, (though it might've been obvious...did you figure it out?) however knowing exactly who the villain was made it all the more interesting to me, especially knowing everything he did was against his own son and the inevitable conflict that would lead up to.
So yes, I was totally hooked, and he insisted repeatedly that I should watch it and would probably like it a lot.
And yet, what really captured my attention wasn't the story alone, but the fact that my BROTHER was the one so heartily recommending it. This wasn't just any brother - this was my hardcore, battle-loving, ninja-kicking, sword-fighting, action hero, warrior enthusiast brother, and if a kids show about love, butterflies, and bright colors had him this excited I had to watch it and see why it was so special. So I did. And it was. 😉🐞✨
If you've been around my channel and/or read some of my descriptions, you'll know I tend to talk about Jesus and the love of God a lot, and that's because the truth of it is so precious to me. I was trying to think of something special to do for Easter, and express just how incredible this very real story is - God sent Jesus, his own Son, to die a painful death on the cross to take the punishment and judgement of God that we deserve, so that we could be forgiven and restored to a perfectly close and personal relationship with God. On the third day, God brought Jesus back to life and now we can have the promise and hope of heaven if we only put our trust in him. To me that is amazing and something I'm delighted in, but I also understand how it can just sound like a string of confusing religious words and not mean as much to someone who isn't a Christian.
I could tell you facts about Miraculous all day long (and I do mean alllll day 😎😉) but you wouldn't understand it's full awesomeness until you experience it for yourself.
The same is true with the very real story of Jesus.
Read the Bible, find a church, get to know God for yourself. The more you learn and discover about him, the more wonderful it gets! When you realize just how much he loves you - enough to give up everything he had - you will never have to doubt your worth. You will never have to feel alone because once you accept Jesus into your life he will always be by your side - ready and willing to help as a loyal partner, hero, and friend. You can walk through life without fear knowing the one who holds your future and promises to strengthen you every step of the way. You will be filled with a new power to guide you, direct you, and support you in the beautiful life God wants you to have.
Not to say it becomes magically easy, because it doesn't, and we all make mistakes, but God doesn't ask for perfection - he only asks for your love. For you to commit your life to him and trust that he will get you safely through. Which is what this song is about.
Of course, I can't show you clips of my actual life, but I hope to show glimpses of it though the scenes of Miraculous and the person you know me to be from behind the videos and comments. The highs, the lows, the joys, the sorrows - God has carried me through it all, and I know he can be there for you too, if you're willing to let him.
This isn't just some old religion or wishful thought. It's something real and personal and good and something you can experience for yourself - just as I have. ❤
I love you, and hope you know how loved you are. 💖
