This is a nice one! I'm trying your techniques. I love your paintings with the airbrush and I've used mine a few times on my own paintings. I get my craft paints from Hobby Lobby when they are 50% off of the 16 oz bottles. I priced Artist's Loft acrylics in the pump bottle and I think Hobby Lobby has the better deal. I also get the Liquitex Basics and Master's Touch tube paint mixing 2:1 ratio of floetrol to paint.

Another Capital G for Gorgeous!!! Just love your airbrush technique. Those colors are perfect. Some artists use too many colors on one painting. I also like that you know when to call it done. What State do you live in? I live in the central California Valley. We haven't really had a winter. No rain, no freeze. Lowest over nite in mid 40's. Today (early Feb) is in the low 70's. So guess we skipped Winter and went directly to Spring! 😎😎😎

Digital art is a lot easier for me (I think). But I always see animals in your paintings. Do you ever see them while you are doing it? Or do you ever walk around to try to see different angles and distances? I dunno, you’ve inspired me so my mind is racing on things I would do. Thanks for sharing with us.

is the paint mixed with resin or just simply paint on it's own
@lorilovesdragons5 жыл бұрын
I have browsed the previous comments and your replies. There are so many after scrolling a while my finger got tired, lol. Anyhow, here are my questions: Are the products you're using such as silicone and floetrol archival? Also does the silicone break down binders in the paint and/or keep paint from binding to the canvas/substrates? Thanks so much. This is a beautiful painting!
@ChristinaWelch5 жыл бұрын
there is nothing out there that says floetrol is not archival since it is used on walls when mixed with paint. I lean to believe it's not though. As far as silicone, when used properly, rises to the top of the painting and is removed when the painting is cleaned before varnish or resin. Sealing a painting is important and upon sealing, you are giving your art the best chance at it being an archival piece. I for one will not be around to care in 100 years.
@fattypig886 жыл бұрын

An Airbrush does come with a learning curve. I bought just the brush because we had everything else. It came with zero instructions. I saw that Gina Deluca used 45 pounds of pressure with her first try so I set mine at that. I had no idea what the end screw was for. It was open...lol. so to make a long story short...in trying my first dutch pour my room, and I were spattered with paint everywhere...I can laugh about it now. But it wasnt so funny then.
@ChristinaWelch5 жыл бұрын
I only use 25psi otherwise you will muddy the colors and spray it everywhere....lol I'd use a hairdryer for a Dutch Pour.
