Very pleasant person; anyway there’s something weird in how she’s exposing her 0.0001 under the spectrum. I mean.. jumping high doesn’t make you 0.0001 Superman. Looks like if she’s using this diagnosis to present herself more than teaching us something. I’d be a little annoyed if I have had an autistic child, probably

theres no such thing as "0.0001 under the spectrum". It doesn't work like that. The spectrum is not a linear line from not autistic to the most autistic, rather its more like a colour wheel, where everyone who is autistic sits somewhere on that colour wheel with their own unique presentation. It's still a spectrum, but its not just one line from less to more. She may not appear as "very autistic" to you, but that's because her and many many other autistic people, especially women, beat themselves to near death to try and mask and appear as neurotypical as possible as a defence mechanism. And also, what we see through her appearences on TV or social media is not every moment of her life, its not every up and down. We don't see her away from the camera, and its highly possible that when she's not being viewed by the public, she appears "more autistic" in your eyes. Autism isn't about how one looks on the outside. In reality, it can be a very very internal experience. It's about our perception of the world and how we function in it. Just because we're not always rocking back and forth and flapping our hands doesn't mean we're not autistic. It can be much, much more subtle. It's the subtle fiddling with fingers to ease the anxiety of an unfamiliar environment, its the consious, running commentary in our heads as we force ourselves to make eye contact with people. And we don't deny that life is obviously much harder for those who's autism presents in such a way that means they have very limited communication, and much more impactful sensory processing issues. It's very difficult to deny that. I'm privileged that i have the ability to talk and communicate but that doesn't mean its easy for me. That doesn't mean there isn't times where i can hardly get a single word out. That doesn't mean i'm not autistic, or that i'm "only 0.1% autistic", cause theres no such thing. Along the same vein, there are plenty of autistic people who are much much more verbal than me, hyperlexic, but they may have much more struggle and anxiety surrounding routine or sudden changes than I do. We're all different, and we're all disabled. Just because the public eye can't always see that in us doesn't mean its not there. If any parent of autistic children looks at christine and is angry, that's out of their own judgements and internalised ableism, not the fault of her own. If they acknowledge that autism is a spectrum, they shouldn't be angry to see someone who isn't their child being open about being autistic, just because it presents differently for them. And having people like Christine be open about her autism is important, because there are so many people out there, especially women, who are struggling day to day, masking their way through life until they're deep in suicidal depression, but no one ever thinks to say they could be autistic because they "don't look autistic". Just having that label of autism has saved so many lives, and it angers me when people reduce it to "oh but you're only a little bit autistic". You don't understand what living life in my brain is like. You don't understand what living in her brain is like, so you can't make assumptions like that. I hope you can learn to hold less judgements just from a first glance.

@@salvomichielli Have you asked your son how he feels about being autistic? You will never get rid of autism. It's sad that parents say they suffer from their child's autism when they aren't the ones who are autistic. This is why it's crucial that autistic kids have autistic adults as mentors cause parents that are not autistic will never understand the breath of what means to be autistic.

Clearly you know nothing about the intensity of the steps it takes to get an autism diagnosis. They are carried out by highly experienced and qualified psychiatrists and can sometimes take hours and multiple sessions. It is a very intense and stressful deep delve into every aspect of your life from birth up to the current time. Educate yourself on the complexity of autism presentation especially in women. Read about masking too. Just because she doesn't "appear" what people would describe as stereotypically or traditionally autistic, doesn't mean she isn't. She clearly has masked her traits and difficulties for a long time to fit in. Doesn't matter if it's a private diagnosis, most people take that route nowadays due to long NHS waiting lists.

It took me a long time to get diagnosed with autism, because I didn’t act like other people with it and I was always really confident and I’ve never cared what people thought about me. I’ve never masked either.
