Ang meaningful din ng conversation namin about Dementia: based on her experience as Director of Activity in a senior facility in the U.S. for 2years .

Omg napaiyak ako dito... Mama ko kase 75 at 85 naman yung papa ko. Pero sa awa ng dyos wala masyadong major sickness. Pero yun nga mahal na mahal ko sila kaya sensitive ako pagusapang parents na. Nice content ito. Thank you sa infos. I'm so proud ni Ms. Aiai at cya yung namamahala sa ganung facility ng mga old parents.... Nakakaawa nga ang mga old parents dito sa US. Very lonely sila kasi nilalayo sila ng mga sarili nilang anak kase hindi maalagaan or ayaw alagaan... Syempre need nila ang presence ng mga anak nila at mga apo.... Kaya nakakalungkot...

Oo nga eh nagtaka nga ako kasi malinaw ang original video nyan. Pagka upload sa YT naging grainy. 😱 The same camera naman ang ginamit for Julius’ Vlog kasi ang cameraman ko sa vlog na ito ay si Julius. I think resolution loss was caused in the process of transferring the video.

I am learning things from this vlog . My Mom is 97 and diagnosed with severe dementia . What made me (us, her children and grandchildren) got more worried was when she had a bad fall that caused her right and left femur to break. Now she has been bedridden for almost 3 years now Watching her from her sick bed hurts me most. She doesnt sleep for 3 straight days talking to people we cannot see. Pls pray for my Mom. Thanks!

Ms Tin, make a memory board in front of her where she usually sits do she can see it. That includes pictures of family members and friends. Make it stimulating by using different colours. Renew it evry month. Place a big clock and calendar where she can see to orientate her with time and day. My mom and dad loved the calendar and clock. My dad even ticked the day that has passed so he knows the present. Ms Ai Ai is correct with the Tactile blanket as it gives them comfort when anxiety kicks in. Let her do some of physical daily activities like combing her own her, helping herself dress up, like simple buttoning, zipping etc. Dont take away even a little bit of independence. They need to use their functioning limbs to avoid muscle wastings. Let them think like asking simple puzzles that are answerable with simple responses like is the stone heavier than ship? Birthdays etc. Patience is a virtue, I love asking all these to my mom and dad. I play old music that they resonates to their past. Theres a lot to do to stimulate their brains. I gave them lots of Vitamins especially Vit B1 and lots of probiotics as the gut is our second brain. I can go on and on. Im an ICU nurse with an aged parents. They passed away during Covid theyre 95 and 105 years when they left us.

Miss Tin,yun po talaga pasensya at keep showing love to your mom. I am working in a long term care facility dito sa US for 13 years na. Sometimes din po you can read a book sa mommy niyo at kausapin niyo,usually they remember things hindi lang sila maka communicate or carry a conversation.

@@ChristineBabaosChannel yes because they are able to recall detailed memories from earlier life.Minsan nga po yun resident namin would talk nung depression time dito sa US na wala naman ako idea pero we have to go into their world kasi if we argue sa kanila then yun nag trigger ng galit nila.
