Karen, you always go above and beyond for your Christmas soaps. It is such a treat to watch when I have the time. I watch and think there is no way that I would be taking that much time and effort to make soap. I pray you sell every beautiful creation you make.

Every time I watch your videos, it feels like I’m visiting a friend in her workshop. I bring my knitting and a cuppa and you talk me through what you’re working on. I love how calm you stayed when you realized the mold was overfilled. Just “oh, well, that’s a thing that happened. Ho hum, here we go fixing it right up.” Well done. I’m glad you did the scrape on top. That made the green of the piping really feel like a part of the design, not just like “oh, I ran out of the color I wanted so i just grabbed whatever for the topping.” And those baubles are precious. Love it!

I love Christmas and Christmas baubles and I love this soap! So delightful and classy....you have such a wonderfully creative mind Karen and that is a true treasure, I have hardly any creativity at all. For days I've been re-watching your bath bomb videos, they're so relaxing for me, your voice is very soothing. I have anxiety-related disorders and watching you is very calming. Lovely video, I must visit your website and see all these beautiful products together!

Since your using water in your soap making, what preservative do you use?
@cauldronhillcraftworks
@cauldronhillcraftworks 3 жыл бұрын
If you're using water to separate the sodium and hydroxide ions in NaOH lye, there's no need for a preservative. Because the freed sodium bonds to the oils and turns it into a salt we call "soap" . Leftover water evaporates out of the soap.
@EdensSecret1
@EdensSecret1 3 жыл бұрын
Alwyn Green - Chillaxed Products Hi Alwyn you don't need preservative in soap? Sharon gives a good explanation.

I have a question im not sure if you could help me on or not, if not its totally okay! So I bought BrambleBerry's swirl quick mix and i noticed on the instructional tutorial that they used sodium lactate (hope that's the right word, something lactate) and incorporated that in with the lye water. Is that a must to add to the batter is the lactate? Or can i go without it? I finally purchased everything i think I need but than nope i see I'm missing sodium lactate . So if you could please let me know i would greatly appreciate it!! This is the very first time im going to attempt to make soap. And btw Karen this soap is super cute!! But than again, all of your products are! You've inspired me to make soap myself... But sure it's going to be a "nailed it!" Situation lol . i couldn't thank you enough for all of your helpful information. Im seriously about to lose my home since im a single unemployed parent, this is my last hope to keep above water and make some money. Best wishes to you and yours, forever and always!

Sodium Lactate, which a liquid salt from sugars, is usually add to the Lye Solution, but it can be added to your oils/butters or even to your batter (oils/butter & lye solution). It’s general purpose to to make it easier to unmold your soap. It is not a requirement, plenty of soaps don’t use it.
@cheryl739
@cheryl739 3 жыл бұрын
Nikki, Sodium Lactate is the salt made from Lactic Acid. It is recommended, but not essential, to add into your Lye solution after it cools to below 130 degrees F. Now many have just added some salt (tsp for 2 lb. Batch to start) into the water before adding your Sodium Hydroxide (Lye) but it needs to be mixed thoroughly before adding the lye. This will also help with unmolding and to make a harder and longer lasting bar. Sodium Lactate is not a requirement but a preferred ingredients. Good luck to you 👍
@EdensSecret1
@EdensSecret1 3 жыл бұрын
Nikki XO Lee Hi, you can make your soap without sodium lactate (I never use it) As far as I know all sodium lactate does is enable release from the mold.
