Thank you for sharing the local "Presepe Vivente"! It was done with the real spirit of community and joy! Fiumara di Muro, Calabria, a town close to us, has a Presepe Vivente every year.. on Dec26, Jan1, and Jan.6 (Epiphany). Theirs is set in an abandoned part of the mountain town, higher in the hilltop. Spectacular! I truly do love the presepe all over Italy as they remind me of the true meaning of Christmas past. Winding through the streets, seeing the vendors, the artisans, all reminders of life bygone! Visiting the manger, and in Fiumara ending up at a 15th century church, and being offered a cup of local wine as well as rustic Calabrian Crispelle. Spirit of Faith, and traditions never to be fogotten. A fabulous time

We love this celebrations and everybody had a great time. Granaiola, Pieve di Monti di Villa and Monti di Villa (almost the same name!) are three ancient villages next to each other and every year the nativity happens on one of them in a kind of rotation. We didn't want to miss it. We met friends involved in the organization and the atmosphere was wonderful. Thank you for your very interesting comment and description of your local presepe vivente.

I have spent Christmas in Africa and found Christmas trees looked so strange under the hot sun, I loved the experience.

Lovely video! Lorenzo and I love to see these live re-enactments of the nativity. It has been a while since we've seen one. The location was perfect and it was beautiful to see all the snow-capped mountains in the distance. Buon Natale to you both. 😊

I am afraid it is only one day. Social media is the best place to find these events. For this one put in Presepe Vivente Bagni di Lucca . The event moves around three villages, each year it is in a different village. You need to check on the day as if the weather is bad it is cancelled. Thank you so much for your support.
