I remember my grandparents boiling it in a biscuit pan, them big crix pan, then they would bake in their dirt oven. Makes all their breads and cakes with fire on top and fire below. God bless uncle Clyde, I just went back to my child hood, straight down memory lane

What brand of ham did you use? These smoked hams that we have in Trinidad and Tobago nowadays are quite soft so I am wondering how long this ham would boil without mashing up in the pot!

Hi 👋😊👍💯. I had to watch this video twice. I never see any one boiled and make ham, just only hear about it when I was little. Quick question: 1. Do you use salt and sugar? 3. Can we see the preparation before boiling? Very much interested. Looks good and yummy too. Looking forward to see some more paramin Christmas traditional food.👋😊👍💯⛄🎅🤶❄️🇹🇹🌲🌟💞💞

Clove is not only for flavor but also used to help kill any worm or parasite in the Ham.
@tonymaxwellhatt1175
@tonymaxwellhatt1175 Жыл бұрын
Boiling ham kills any impurities. Parasites and worms (Trichinellosis) can be avoided by freezing fresh ham at -15C until needed. So basically by applying common sense and not leaving pork meat, or any other meat at room temperature for long periods, you should be OK.

Looks lovely, but probably way too salty for my liking. I always remember our Xmas ham being soaked for 2/3 days to remove excess salt before being baked. Hey!! But everyone has their own way of cooking.

That ham had to be the one encased in tar...what we used to call "tar ham" when I was small. My mother used to soak it for a few days changing the water frequently then boil it in a crix tin outside in the backyard for hours. I don't remember any seasonings being put in the water while the boiling was in progress.
