We are doing a sprinkling of Christmas/Advent stuff while doing regular lessons. My oldest (16) decided to take last month off, so we are continuing regular lessons this month. However, we do advent focused activities. I have a 3yo too, so we are actually using Minno's Advent along with the Jesus Storybook Bible Advent. I LOVE to bake and cook so we use that as a way to learn a bit about how other countries celebrate Christmas. We use the Joy to The World book which shares background information for 25 Christmas Hymns and other Christmas picture books and novels that we have around the house. We do a lot of reading aloud.

We are doing a Christmas devotional this year!!! We find that we can’t do a seasonal unit as it’s one extra thing we don’t have time for!!! We love campfire curriculums units!!! We buy the foods instead of baking them!!!

@@HomeSweetHomeschoolLife as our core days to remember and doing rabbit trails and the Christmas story. At Easter we found it long so we don’t know how much of the core devotional we will use.

We are pausing the GR Human Body unit and doing a Christmas around the world study I picked up on Black Friday on sale! I’m not a baker either! But I’m going to attempt to make cookies this week 😮

@@HomeSweetHomeschoolLife my friend gave me recipe for sugar cookies and she also gave me some cookie cutters because I didn’t even have any. So hopefully they will come out ok

OH no, lol I can't do a Christmas Study and let the rest go.... lol .... we, or my kids will fall so far behind. We are year rouund schoolers and this last summer we took a month brake and man it was not good! I flet like we had to go back and relearn the past 2 months to get back into a good grove. I don't want to make that mistake again. I do know that they have connections to most other subjects and what not .... Do you think this would be good to just do an add on? I have added just a chapter a day of Luke but we could make time for a amore indept study of Jesus. but not really looking for songs but more centered around Jesus
