Dwight holding the mic for Angela wasn't on the script. Angela Kinsey was terrified to sing in front of people, and she even talked to the director trying to get out of it. After she shared this fear with Rainn, Rainn kneeled down, held the mic for her, and started chanting pum pum pum to calm her down. The love we see in this scene between Angela and Dwight is from the love between Angela Kinsey and Rainn Wilson. Angela shared this story on Office Ladies and I think it's too wholesome that I must share to those who haven't heard of it. This made me teared up watching this scene.

In a podcast with Pam and Angela's actresses, Angela says she was supposed to sing by herself, but she gets massive stage fright about singing irl, so when she told Rainn (Dwight) about it, he offered to hold the mic for all the other takes to make her feel better :) I think that's really wholesome

This episode had so many unique stories...I was at a Japanese steakhouse two weeks ago and couldn't stop thinking about Dwight hollering across the table about how to kill a bird. And Kevin wearing his robe for most of the episode!

One of my favorite episodes! So many cute moments. Stanley looking between both parties, then looking at the camera, then slooowly turning to the break room. Karen fearlessly snatching Angela's party flyer. The staredown between Karen, Pam, and Angela. Darryl looking so pleased with himself when he goes to get his keyboard. And then... "in the name of Nutcracker Christmas" with the star-shaped rice krispie treat LOL.
