Oh my gosh, I don't understand why people think they have the right to tell you how to live your life. You do you! Personally I love the idea to wrap fake gifts, it's a great way for parents to 'hide' the actual gifts from their kids, create a cozy and complete look, and keep garbage boxes out of landfills! Keep doing what you do ! I love your channel and love to see how you decorate!

Hey I love your empty presents 😄 I don't put gifts under the tree until Christmas Eve because my kids will peak or crush it! 😆 So faux gifts would be perfect but I can't even wrap the real gifts on time 😆 I just started matching my gift wrap to my tree colors. Girl, no one should hate on you. I am a stay at home mom and I still wrapped 10 empty amazon boxes and tied them with ribbon because it is beautiful and makes me happy. I have an idea for your table sitting situation. You could use one of the wooden chairs at each end of the table and use the poofs on one side of the table. Like a bench. Then the two chairs in the living room you could put on either side of the fireplace and center the sofa in front of the fireplace or use the chair's in your bedroom if there's space. You would have to move the tree over for extra space if course. Happy Decorating!🥰

On your dining chairs. If you can’t find and extra one, get a bench for the other side and use the other chairs, put them on the ends. I like your dining just the way it is.

Good for you for calling them out. I agree, a tree needs presents under it and I don't buy a lot of gifts to put under it anymore. I have wrapped boxes to make the tree look complete. I also sometimes wrap my pictures I have hanging on the wall as gifts over the years. The haters should stick to if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all.

I agree with you 100%! People can be cruel with their comments. As far as the fake presents go…back many years ago when everybody had the massive entertainment centers, 😂 I would wrap fake gifts and stage them on top of it. I added greenery with lights and I always got compliments on it. Keep doing what you love! Your channel is great!

I love the brown (craft) and black craft paper for wrapping. It’s cost less to use craft paper than wrapping paper. I prefer to spend more on the ribbons than the paper. It’s looking so good! You do you and toss the haters to the side. ❤

I agree on leaving the table un-stained until you’re 100% sure. I love the current color btw! It can go with almost any style. You could always add a table runner if you want a change. But no matter what you make amazing design choices. :)

A few years ago me aunts house was broken into before Christmas. From that tome we have wrapped boxes for decoration and don’t bring gifts out until the day before Christmas.

Don’t stain those beautiful pieces! 🙏 I think your garland looks great on one side. You just need to add a few more things and move the stockings to the right side corner. You can add your rustic bells, some flower picks and maybe a bow to the corner of the garland. I saw someone else do that recently and it looked gorgeous without looking overdone. Very chic. I can’t wait to see your home transform!!! And who cares if you wrap empty boxes!!!! If you’ve seen Lone Fox, he just bought these fake breads to put in his new kitchen. My husband and I moved this past year to his home state and it’s the 2nd year my mother in law has been able to see my Christmas decor in person. To her I go crazy lol because every year I buy new things to add and I always change up how I decorate. I’d say 90% of my decorations are from years past and 10% is new. She’s been decorating the same way with the same things for 30 years! (Since my husband was born) and I love her tradition of that… but for me, I like to be creative lol

Faux candles are a must in our household. Our cat is an idiot and thinks he’s fireproof. The absolute last straw was when he jumped into one of those big candle-in-a-jar deals. He didn’t get burned, thankfully, but he did end up coated in wax. We ended up having to take him to the vet to get it all out. He came home wax-free, but they weren’t able to get the color out. He was bright pink for weeks. It’s been faux candles for us ever since.😂

Love the dining chairs as is but- if you were to stain them I think a rich espresso brown color would be a great contrast to the table 💗

I love your console table and dining table the color they are. That’s so nice. I’m wondering if you could do the chairs the same color? I do like the contrast of the darker chairs also. I LOVE your candelabra from hearth and hand. That’s gorgeous.

I would but after sanding and stripping that table, I don’t ever want to touch anything else 😂 Especially those chairs with all the grooves hahaha

I don't understand why people have to say anything if they don't like something. I wrap faux gifts as well because I like a completed look all month long. My mom use to wrap bricks up as gifts because her faux tree was a bit wobbly and it kept it more stable! Thanks for taking us along and sharing your planning thoughts - I like to hear others thought processes and talking about decor any time.

Other decorators wrap gifts with nothing inside. I'm thinking of doing the same. Good for you for speaking out!

LOL I do the same thing with empty wrapped gifts under the tree! It’s all about the aesthetic!! Also… I love the garland idea but I think it would be best if it was longer and covered the top and then draped down the left side with the stockings draped on the right to balance… but if you don’t have a longer one then I’d just go for the top. I love the look though. I saw a KZfaqr who did it that way, I think it was Jenna Pierce.
