I nursed my three for 22 mths,16 mths and 25 mths. I found that cutting out day feeds first and then working on nap time feeds by having a hug, a cup of regular milk and then another hug before naps. You just have to keep forging ahead. You’ll both get there.

I bought the Emma mattress a year ago. It is super comfortable. Be safe during the storm.

Space out your feedings by taking out the least important feeding first. Give her a sippy cup for the feedings you are supplementing. Take away feedings little by little and keep supplementing until you are down to the last feeding. It's less traumatizing for the child and keeps you from uncomfortable pain and infection.

Archie was definitely willing to help Heidie with that bottle! Watching him struggle to reach it while you were talking was quite entertaining. He's a little boy on a mission ❤

I have just remembered that my sister Katharine used to work at Barton Grange hotel, way back in the early 1980's a d she met Percy Thrower when he opened the garden centre. She was a trainee chef and when she had to work at Christmas 1979, I believe it was, dad paid for us all to have Christmas Day lunch there, it must have cost a fortune!

If you really wanted a Christmas Village then the glass cabinet in your sitting room would be a nice place to display it and it would be away from little hands to touch but available for all to view. I have a Christmas Village that goes on my bookshelves every year and everyone always admires it.

Memory foam mattress saved me. 2 daughters, ADHD and ADD, I invested and it paid off. Sleep deprivation was no more.

I don't usually comment on things like this but I've not seen anyone mention this yet... At this age along with comfort, you're effectively sharing your immune system through breastfeeding, helping to support Heidi as she encounters germs and bugs. With that in mind and with so much going around at the moment you may find it easier to wean her in the spring/summer when she's not being exposed to so much (I find mine feed far more when they get a whiff of germs!) Other than that all I can offer is support and encouragement as I've still got my youngest on the go and my eldest naturally weaned. I don't think anyone can prepare you for how tough it can be, you're doing amazing mumma!

I love your family! As a lactation consultant and childbirth educator of 35 years, I can assure you that if you do not have nutrients in your blood stream to make the breast milk with your baby will not get them or drain you of them. Babies do not take the nutrients from you. You need to take Extra vitamins yourself especially Bs. Lay off the carbs and eat protein rich foods with calcium and magnesium. That will give you your energy back. With many of your pregnancies you were already growing a new fetus at this point. As far as weaning is concerned, You need to explain to her that the milk is going away And substitute bottles, As she reduces the feedings eventually the milk will revert back to colostrum which does not taste the same and she may give it up on her own. But do this gradually or you will end up with blocked milk ducks from the encouragement. Good luck!

Oh sue I really feel your pain, I’ve long term fed my three babies , 16 months . I felt the same as you I was just exhausted and my body was exhausted. I just woke up one morning and said enough is enough. And just wouldn’t feed them anymore. It’s soooo hard. You have to be so strong and not give in. It takes a few days of very very hard times for you and Bub! Lots of crying for both you and Bub. But just stay strong don’t give in and after a few days of hardship she will get over it Good luck , it’s awful but stay strong and you both will get through it xx

I eventually went to a feed before bed, I use to get up and distract my children in the day if they wanted to feed. Mine were 18 months and 2 years.

The youngest is the hardest to wean totally. I went from breast to formula in a sippy cup and missed out bottles completely. I was very lucky though because all he wanted was to copy his sister who was almost 2 years older and she had a cup. Shorten your feeding sessions with her, try to stop the midday feeding first. Pump some in a bottle and add regular milk if she is craving you. Overtime add more cows milk then breast milk, till it is all cows milk. It will take several weeks, but gradually give her less feedings from you until no feedings at all. For your hair, take a supplement specifically for nail-hair and skin.

What worked for my sister in weaning my niece who was a similar age to Heidie she went away for a weekend and when she came back my niece had forgotten about it and she had been just like Heidie ❤️
