I lost it when Halie cried. She's always been the helper, the minimalist, one of the brains in the family and wants to keep things simple and quiet and it seems to me that she rarely gets something or gets appreciated enough. We love you Halie! I am so happy for everyone but especially for Luke and Savannah! When Halie started crying I started crying. Seeing this the day after Christmas. Glad everyone had a good Christmas. We did something different this year. I let my granddaughters open their presents Christmas Eve. Hope everyone gets better soon. My daughter lives n Pa. she watched the vaccine come n on a plane at the airport she cleans. Watched them unload from plane & load the trucks for Memphis. She said she was a part of history. Our state & Memphis is a hot spot for it. We have health issues n my family & we really have to be careful. As I hear what u said about the person with gloves , & spraying his mail sometimes it just don’t matter u still can get it. You guys are wonderful and giving, and don’t need to be told that you were negligent. We are all so tired of this virus and the restrictions. I think it has been particularly hard on the children as they have missed so many of the usual activities, such as Home Coming and dances and just being able to socialize as they use to do. I think you are doing that best you can in this difficult and strange time. Sending prayers and wishes for God’s blessings for your entire family. The kids reactions to their presents is adorable! They're all so sweet! One thing I REALLY appreciate about your family is that you're open to admit you've been making mistakes. I believe that' really healthy for the kids to see, and to learn that it is ok to be or do wrong sometimes, you just have to learn from it! I feel like a lot of kids get the idea from home that you always have to keep up a "perfect facade" and that's of course not healthy, I believe it's much healthier to see mum and dad admit they've been wrong about something and what they learn from it! Also it's terrible other kids were making fun of them for wearing masks, the school really should do something about that! I'm sure you're doing everything you can to let the kids know that being safe and taking appropriate precautions is nothing to be ashamed of or feel bad about, even if everyone around them is being careless. But I know it can be SO HARD to go against your classmates/school friends if they make fun of you! I hope the kids feel even more empowered now to stand up for themselves and each other (as we all know they do so well!) and keep being safe and careful

That’s sad that the kids were being made fun of for wearing masks. The kids who are not wearing masks should be the ones getting made fun of! So sad and upsetting cause they are just trying to protect family and community, have the kids make a statement and wear some cute masks or something!! It’s a style statement live your best life. I live on the east coast and if you don’t wear a mask you get weird looks so i’m sorry the kids had to experience that.
