I miss the old days back when I was a Kid , My family always had a Ceder tree for a Christmas Tree. It just made the whole house smell so great. now days it a fake tree if I even put one up at all ( no little kids at home anymore ). And my late wife was the heart and soul of all our Holidays.

we have always had cats so every year we would wrap bailing twine around the trunk about half way up the tree & anchor the bailing twine to the wall. plus we could never put glass ornaments down low because the cats would break them. it’s funny but after the 1st season they would ignore fuzzy balls but would break glass ones. we put the nice ornaments out of the cat’s reach anyway having the tree anchored to the wall saved our buts several times over the years.

Takes me back to the days on our farm in rural Australia - we went out and cut a limb off o gum tree - that was our tree (full of bugs of course). Again this year looked like lots of family fun, selection, cutting down, hauling and decorating. Merry Christmas to you all.

i think a natural tree like that is pretty... of course its not a perfect looking one but that is part of the charm of a self cut one... and just look at it with all the decoration, its so pretty! edit: i just realized, aren´t we missing an important detail on the top though? :P pretty non the less!

The kids have good choices in trees, if you are putting it up in the shop. Michael is being very supportive in the quest for the PERFECT tree. Maybe a sawall next year, but the hand saw makes better content. Tree looks great!!!!
