Christmas vacation is the 3rd installment in the National Lampoon Vacation series. It's Christmas time and the Griswolds are preparing for a family seasonal celebration, but things never run smoothly for Clark (Chevy Chase), his wife Ellen (Beverly D'Angelo) and their two kids. Clark's continual bad luck is worsened by his obnoxious family guests, but he manages to keep going knowing that his Christmas bonus is due soon.

Quite a few years ago, some family members and I started a sketch comedy podcast and named it "Bend Over And I'll Show You", directly from that line in Christmas Vacation. We worked that line into each episode too.

Clearly some type of moron lol....they all got gradually worse......the original is an all-time classic. Christmas Vacation is actually fairly goofy/slapstick....the music score and sound effects are particularly corny.....the original film (the uncensored version) is perfection

This is the greatest Christmas movie ever made. I have watched it more than any other Christmas movie.

Vegas Vacation is "refined"... said no one. Is he for real or was that scripted. I mean, the guy hated the Christmas lights scene. You had to have scripted that for him to balance the review.

While they are the greatest curse rants, the king of rants still must go to Denis Leary. Though not often are his laden with excessive cursing, no one beats his flow. Best IMO are Demolition man, The Ref and Suicide Kings.

They are entirely different movies... but if I had to choose between those curse rants I'd say Adam Sandler as Happy Gilmore was better and much more violent which made the movie good. Even the tagline on the poster made me want to see it...and to be clear I'm talking about the original poster from the vhs tape...it says "He doesn't play golf...he destroys it".

Man, does Justin even understand this movie and the bonus he was expecting that he got the previous 17 yrs. to cover the deposit and he got the pool before he saw Mary.. so many issues *le sigh* Then he says he relates to Todd and Margo?! Also, if Eddie can't swim why is about to dive in the pool. I think Clark just imagined anyone but, Eddie there in his fantasy.

My Mom and I always howl with laughter when Ellen says in the kitchen "I don't know what to say, except it's Christmas and we're all in misery" 😅🎄🤷♀️ It is funnier now I am older to understand exactly why it is so funny, like fine wine this movie gets better with age.

My mom loves this movie. We went to see this in the theater because we remembered and loved Nat. Lampoon Vacation. I was 12. My mom loves dirty humor, i.e. Married with Children. We watch this every year at Thanksgiving.

It seems like James has the sense that the film is a nice classic while Justin considers it horrible, both going into this assuming their opinion is the consensus and then all throughout the discussion it never really sinks in to either of them that the other has a different view 😂

Probably referring to the more grounded and “refined” humor like when Clark swings across the Grand Canyon, his daughter becomes a stripper, his son wins 4 Lamborghini’s, and Wayne Newton falls in love with Clark’s wife. It’s definitely the most Kubrickian of the series.

I'm honestly at the point where I'm gonna stop tuning into the movie reviews. Its actually frustrating. James steadily remains the most relatable. His friends are off a lot of the time.
